Hey there! Okay as a newb, which I’m going to go ahead and assume you are, the Forums may seem really...well...Daunting. All those section and words, so scary.  So this is for you. Hopefully I can make your Forum life easier. I will go through a step-bystep breakdown of the forums, So listen up.
First of all im gonna assume we are talking about these forums, Right?
 
PLAY ELEMENTS!
This is for those who have not played elements yet or need a quick link to it. Elements is the game that this wiki and forums are built upon. It was created by our god Zanzarino. (Blessed be his name) Anyway, zanz updates this glorious game every month or so with AI fixes and new cards.
Forum News and Announcements
This is where you can get up-to-date info on the forum happenings without having to check the rest of the forums. This area is run mostly by ScaredGirl (we call her SG).
Patch Notes and Development News
This is where you will find updates to the game. Mostly zanz posts here with updates to the game but sometimes his pal chriskang does to (well did until he was eaten by a bear or something...)
Newbie Tutorials
Like I said before you're a newb so I suggest you check this section out. It has many tutorials not only to the game, but also other things. You can also ask some moderators (Namely Jmizzle7 and SG) if you can post a tutorial here.
General Discussion
This is where you can talk about stuff related to EtG (elements the game)
Events and Competitions
Now this is a HUGE part of elements on the forums so I will be going into each of the individual sub-sections.
 PvP Tournaments
These are weekly tournaments that happen in http://elementschat.co.cc/chat.php Anyway to join all you must do is be at chat 15 minutes before the start time.
PvP League
The PvP leagues are a thing that last almost 2-3 months. The objective, to get as many wins by challenging other people in the league. The winner gets a code for rare cards and an award on the forums.
PvP Events
PvP events are run by our PvP organizer, Essence. They last roughly 1-2 maybe 3 weeks at a time, and are sort of like the weekly tournaments but different in that there are special rules and you have at the most 3 days to play your opponent.
War
War is a huge event that happens every 2-ish months. The basic idea is that all 12 elemental masters get a team of 6 people and fight it out in an Epic clash of elements. War lasts about 5-6 weeks, and requires NO upgraded cards. War and trials alternate every 2 months.
Trials
Trials are the trials that each master must undergo every 2-ish months to keep their title. To sign up you must have a score of 5000 (at least...) and at least 50 posts on the forums. Trials and war alternate every 2 months.
WoE
WoE is an Acronym for World of Elements. It is a work in progress, the basic idea is to create an RPG elements based type thing. here is an Excerpt from SG about WoE "World of Elements (WoE) is a large-scale community-driven forum event built around Elements the game. Any community member can join WoE at any time. All you need is Elements game account, a forum account, and a thirst for power and glory."
Competitions
Competitions are some of the few we do here on the forums that don't involve the game (Usually...) They can be anywhere from writing competions to card creation competitions. Some have even been about creating more competions.
And thats the end of the events and Competions section. Now we move on.
Cards
Okay There are about 15 sub-sections and im only doing three. Any way the "Cards" section is about cards in the game. (DOH!)
Elemental Subsections
These contain the individual threads for EVERY card in the game.
In Development
These are cards that our God, zanz, is thinking about adding to the game. After being added they move to the appropriate sub-section.
Card Changes
This section is where the cards that may be changed by our god, zanz, are posted.
Card Ideas and Art
This is where card IDEAS and ART are posted by the community. There are a LOT of sub-section so I will only do short Summaries on them.
Design Theory
This is where you post your theories about ways to design cards.
Design Tools
This is where you can find things that will make designing a card so much easier.
Card Art
This is where you can post any art you have made to be put on a card. Or request art for a card idea that you have.
 Series
This is where you post a series of card (6 or more)  ideas that you have.
Level 1 - Crucible
This is where card ideas go if they fulfill the requirements, after this section cards can only go through if voted for by the community.
Level 2 - Forge Level 3 - Armory
These are the levels that cards move through if voted for by the community
Level 4 - Reliquary
This is where cards go if Zanz uses them in the game. Currently only pheonix and Voodoo Doll are in here.
Troubleshooting
Pst here if you are having problems with EtG (Elements, the game)

Post here if you find any bugs in the game. Oh and most "Hackers" are just desyncs.

Luckily for you, I don't really give points depending on the quality of the article, but I can say that your article will not make it to "featured" article. In fact it will probably be deleted.

Wiki is supposed to be an encyclopedia of Elements with all the Elements the game related stuff in short and sweet form. Your article is basically explaining (very briefly) Elements forum navigation. I don't see how that kind of article has any business in Elements Wiki.
