Black Dragon/Obsidian Dragon
Black Dragon is one of darknesses only heavy hitters so is a valuable card to get noteworthy damage out against an enemy in mono-darkness decks. The 5hp means that lightning and holy light is the only spell can kill it by its self (excluding bolts) and that the dragon manages to bypass the gravity shield unupgraded.
Black Dragon/Obsidian Dragon are almost essential in mono-dark decks so that you can get big damage out with the nearest attack creature unupgraded being 3 (Black Nymph and a difference of 7 attack) and upgraded 5 (Dark Nymph again and a difference of 7 attack)
Synergies
  • Pest- Playing a lot of pests means they'll soon be gathering excess quanta which leaves plenty to spend on  a black dragon/ obsidian dragon being played
  • Eclipse - Eclipse adds on 2 attack to an already 12 attack creature and 1 health turning it into a 14|7 dragon with the only higher attack creature being Ruby Dragon.
Still doing the information as the wiki still needs it even if the phase is over.

I don't have the money either. Right now I'm still upgrading my FG grinder, so it'll be suicide for me to start upgrading Darkness cards.

@Miniwally: There is a mistake in your info. Holy Light is another spell that can kill Black Dragon by itself. I think I learned that lesson painfully when I fought Xdude in the Masters tourney.
