Thanks for all the praise guys. I guess I'm the High Flying bird...What a Life! huh? [/insidejoke]
Again, I consider myself very lucky, with great draws and luck in deck selection. Especially after being demolished so hard in Phase 2 (I don't blame you for not expecting this MatrimK , those results spoke for themselves
).
As for basic analysis of my bans-
Damselfly: Probably quite a 'wtf' moment for everyone. But I didn't want to be rushed. And damselfly makes almost every single air rush faster, and takes a whole load of CC to control. Also, taking this out removes Immolation, and the most powerful of Fractal/Mitosis duos (IMO). The other option I was thinking heavily about is UG, because its always good to know where your damage is coming from (Creatures - therfore countering creatures works).
Poison was a ban like that. Not many ways to get poison onto the field without poison in air duos. And I don't like the idea of all my shields/cc being wasted. In hindsight, I should have definitely considered banning bone wall, although I am completely happy with my ban on poison.
Rain of Fire: that one AI3 always ruined my streaks. easy to splash with fireflies and immolation, and makes everything weak to OEs, Fireshields. Wasn't a card I wanted to come across.
SoD: This is when I started banning cards Noobie had used against me. Also, I was planning on rocking up the UGs more if necessary, and those are painful, and extend the game. The fact that it is a ban that is useful in more than one game too...
Mirror Shield: Jade Shield is expensive, so I wasn't too worried, Mirror shield seems a lot more splashable, and more likely. Plus, 1 of 2 without cementing the fact I will be playing UGs every single game.
Twin Universe: Noobiecakes has an amazing TU/Skyblitz deck, and I just didn't want to face it (again). Definitely worth the ban, just to remove that mega-rush.
