As I wrote in chat, I'd like to say that Kuro played an amazing final, he's a great player and it was an honor to play against him.

Now, decks:

I was scared about a winged deck, so I made this one as a sort of counter. He came out with a  :life :time duo with dragon, mitosis and SoR. Procrastination + miracle saved me.
1-0

This was my favourite deck, an Instosis "reoladed". Unfortunately he played a  :fire :time duo, explosions and huge damage outcome killed me.
1-1

Played this one with the hope to not face too much PC. He played a mono :time, dusk muntle + cloak + vampire gave me the win.
2-1

Time to change a little, so I used this poison deck. He played a  :entropy :time scorpion deck, but my poison was better. DC during the game, I won vs AI and Kuro lost.
3-1

Played another poison deck, and suddenly air mark. Then UG and wings. If we play this game 100 times, I'd probably will lose 99 times. Kuro had a terrible luck, last UG was bottom decked.
4-1

On the 4-1 I was pretty confident and I played this scorpion deck. Kuro played again the UG deck, but this time my damage outcome wasn't enough.
4-2

It worked well in game 1, so I decided to play it again. Kuro did the same and we re-made a copy of first game. He played the deck flawless, and managed to kill me. Very close game.
4-3

His comeback scared me a little, I was expecting a neurotoxin deck so I went again with this poison deck, using a purify instead of the third Arsenic. This game is the example of how Kuro is skilled: he read my mind and he played a  :gravity :time with BH and SoFo. Countered hard and killed pretty fast.
4-4

I was pretty scared. A comeback from 4-1 to 4-4 was hurting. I was planning to play a  :aether :time with silence, but then i decided to play my all out, and I choose my monotime.
Kuro re-used his  :gravity :time, but this time my damage outcome was too high for him. DC on the last turn, but there wasn't nothing he could do.
5-4

Most likely this was my hardest match so far, and without any doubt the most exciting. I'm sorry Kuro that you missed the title once again, but if ever there were doubts, today you demonstrated to be an excellent  :time player, certainly at the level of all those who have been Time Master

It always hurts when it comes down like this. But thank you again Spike.

Game summaries coming out shortly.

Game 1:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
4ss 5c2 5c2 5c2 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rm 5rm 5rm 5ro 5ru 5ru 5ru 5se 5se 5se 5t2 5t2 7ap 7ap 7ap 7q0 7q0 7q0 7q0 7q0 7q3 7ri 7ri 7ri 8pn

Rapid Regen (LOST): Despite Spike getting an early Eternity and Turtle Shield, I thought I could overcome the CC with a well-time double mitosis combo, but his two Archangels were already hitting me down hard. A mistimed healing coupled with a completely unacceptable 2 quanta start versus his top decking perfect quanta/core combinations just slammed me to my first loss. 0-1

Game 2:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5f2 5f6 5f6 5f6 5rj 5rk 5rk 5ro 5ro 5s4 7ds 7ds 7ds 7ds 7ds 7du 7du 7qb 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 7ri 8po

Ashand (WIN): Named appropriately to combine 'Ash' and 'Sand', to Ashand, (although I guess it could be named differently). An early deflag stopped his initial hourglass, and when he starting throwing down Sundials, my board had a decent amount of Fire creatures (plus a Nymph!). We disconnected later, but I had another Deflagration in hand to break one of his sundials as necessary to break through. 1-1

Game 3:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]

Clock Keeper (LOST): I assumed that my Dragon may have pulled through, but that Dusk + Vampire Dagger combo thwarted that attempt. Following up on that, I used Precog from my Nymph only to see that he never had Steals in his hand, but alas, it wouldn't have mattered anyway since he played Cloak with his creatures to protect them. 1-2

Game 4:

Nervous Breakdown (LOST): Nova-poison is far faster than dune poison. 1-3

Ticking Bombs (LOST): Bottom decking my Unstable Gasses AND my Immolation was not fun at all. I drew pendulum after pendulum with my single hourglass, wondering if my quanta was off balance or not, and by this time, I was ready to give up, which is why... 1-4

Game 6:

Ticking Bombs (WIN): ...I decided to play it again just for kicks. Surprisingly, I managed to get the Gases out in time to deal that 100 damage before his poison bit through via neurotoxin. I was lucky enough to play Wings to help stop the additional poison counters of that Dune correctly, and with 2 hourglasses flipping through my deck, I was glad I managed to get a 2nd win at this point. 2-4

Game 7:

Rapid Regen (WIN): A near repeat of the 1st game, with the exception that I had an opportunity to correct my mistake given better quanta to fuel me (plus a Lemon-Lime gatorade to keep me slightly energized). Instead of spending quanta on Heal as usual, I played a Devonian Dragon to get him down to the 90 HP, which would have allowed me 9 hits to make it a THKO (two-hit knock out, unlike the OHKO).

When the light quanta was low, and his Eternity bearing down on me, I managed to do the Mitosis-Readiness-Dragon combo twice by first playing the first set normally, and then using a 2nd mitosis and shard saved up on one of the duplicates of the original, giving me a 50 damage bonus. After Spike reversed one, I still had another Dragon ready to put it up another 50 damage (in case he had some sort of luciferin or holy flash waiting for that +10 heal). 3-4

Game 8:

Suction Master (WIN): Feeling irritated by the fact that I didn't outright ban Nova like him, I decided to take matters in my own hands and conjured this deck at last minute (thanks for the approval CCC/Zawa). The shards were able to lock down his arsenic and damage, early black holes sucked his quanta dry, and Pharaohs slowly ramped the damage thanks to a good quanta balance. He barely played his cards at all, due to the multiple ways of me locking down either of his rainbow decks. I was so close! 4-4

Game 9:

4ss 55t 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rk 5rk 5rl 5rs 5rs 5rs 5rs 5s4 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 752 752 752 7q0 7q0 7q0 7q3 7q8 7q8 7ri 7ri 7ri 8pl

Recycled Suction (LOST): ...and again, the disappointment.

TrO Approved.

Well fought Spike, I'm sure you'll be a great master once again.

Kuro, there's always a next :time. You played really well and it was an honor getting you to do Trials this time. I hope you don't give up your quest so soon :P

Spike knows his odds in that one x) I'll also have to say that Spike's got a bit more and more recent PvP experience than PlayerOa had when you almost beat him. This means you've gotten even better, Kuro :>

...and we trust he'll do his job good. ;)
In Spike we trust.
And we keep driving into the night
