I'm sure there are reasons but rules leading to a standin with 20 ups and challenger with 9 ups still look ridiculous to me. good try Solaris.
Do you really mean to call someone who refuses to make the effort to play matches -that are supposed to determine how worthy a challenger is- a legit challenger? In the middle of phase 2 it seemed clear that he wasnt going to put any effort into being master. If someone fails to prove their worth in the early phases, don't you think he should be at a disadvantage?
I admit that 20 ups may be a tad high for standin though. A mediocre challenger would probably get around 4 ups round 1, 6 round 2, 4 round 3 (tbf in a standin battle that means few people deem him worthy), 2 from bonuses, 3 per default, giving them 19 ups for a kinda bad performance. Given how unhappy people tend to be when standin wins, giving him a disadvantage may be ok.
That said, it looks like Solaris actually made a good effort in finals and with 3 more ups he could have won.
