I don't think those could have been any closer.  Two of my wins were by 10 hp or fewer and boots kept me on my heels the entire time.  Thank you for those excellent matches Boots, you truly are a great player.  Good luck to you in the rest of trials.  Decks coming in a little bit.

I thought this was my best bet first game and it turned out to be just right.  Eclipse turned out to be the game saver for me as I got it just in time to finish him off.  He put up quite a fight, piling creature after creature after creature, but I was able to just barely hold him off.  I won with 4 hp.

I started off pretty well with a few EQs, a mummy and a shield, but it all went downhill from there.  I was dreading steals once I saw the darkness mark and it turned out to kill me.  Boots stole my shield and his creatures got through without a problem.

Total mismatch here, his purifies+Drudic Staff took away my minimal damage and my pandes did close to nothing.

Here I needed something fast and I got it.  Not a great draw, I started with 2 pillars and never had more during the game.  Despite the low quanta, I kept drawing spiders and poisons and an arsenic and was able to keep the damage coming.  At the same time, Boots had his creatures piling up and his damage kept coming.  On his last turn, Boots played a vampire dagger, which would have healed him enough to stay alive after my next attack, but I had enough quanta to get one of my mummies out.  I finished with 12 or 10 hp, I can't remember.

I didn't want to make the same mistake I did against ralouf so I went with a deck that I thought could handle most of his decks.  It turns out I had the right deck, as I had a decent draw with a few recluses, a dragon, and a dagger.  The dagger kept the damage to a minimum until I could play my dusk shield  Once I had enough quanta to get my dusk shield out, it was game over. (Dusk did go a little hax here, but I probably would have won anyways)

That was fun :)

Unfortunately Jippy (and his haxx shield!) were too strong for me today - GG!

Screenshots to come.

I do want to point out what a pleasure Jippy is to organise with and play against.  Thanks for an epic match!

Matches:

Game 1:  LOSS 0-1
I went mono life and lost a squeaker!  Jippy had a darkness mark and I think eclipse made all the difference.

Game 2: WIN 1-1
Stealing a good idea from RavingRabbid I went Life/Darkness.  Jippy went with an earth mark.  A couple of early EQ's made life tricksy but stealing a Diamond Shield sealed the win.

Game 3: WIN 2-1
I thought it was time to see poison from Jippy and went with water mark and some purify goodness.  At the last minute I decided to bulk my deck with some staves.  A solid win and very happy with my call of deck although it must be said that Jippy had some horrid luck with his pandemoniums - sorry matey.

Game 4: LOSS 2-2
I went back to my life/darkness deck and Jippy went mono death.  He had a bad draw which I perpetuated by stealing his lonely pendulum.  In the end though he got the quanta he needed and squeaked out another close win.  This one was a nail biter and I missed the screenshot.

Game 5:  LOSS 2-3
I figured it was time to see poison again and switched to water mark and some purifies.  Jippy went with death/darkness and his frightening shield kept all my adrena-beasties at bay.  As ralouf1 said: "duck shield is hell"!

Great choice of deck and a hugely enjoyable match!

Don't worry, my job was done and the post removed. Initially I thought Boot was really Water(with his history and all) and thus that this whole thread was useless.
