I think even if I had sent the lance deck code to Xinef it would have been difficult to build a dragonless counter that won best of 5.

I put my nymphs in the first deck because lately they've been complaining it's lonely at the bottom of my card list.  They've been getting cozy with my crusaders since 1.26 but I had to separate them for this tourney.  Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned... PUN!

I banned Rage Potion, since if he were to ban Pharaoh, I would stand no chance against his CC. I guess banning Fire Lance would have been a better choice since with upped decks it isn't hard to keep :fire quanta > 10, but I guess I have very little experience with fully upped decks... damn war :P
Anyway, he banned Dragons... I wonder why, they are easy to counter for him.

Here are some screenshots to prove that those games were actually pretty close. I guess if only I took a Time mark and less rewinds, those games could be mine... but then I needed rewinds in case of creature rush... as you can see in the first game he was able to prevent me from getting >3 hp scarabs...

looking at the screenies you dont have to wonder why he banned the dragon
plus, as i said earlier somewhere before, its in part thanks to you for revealing everything about time's plight in mono vs mono

you specifically put it down as time vs darkness situation but it goes beyond that
time just dont have any beef apart from the dragons
take out the dragons and time dont have any rush power at all
any rush deck will be able to beat time even with eternity and turtle shield unbanned

Just to put everyone's mind at ease, I knew I was banning dragons as soon as I was matched with Xinef, mainly because I was paying attention during the second Trials.

Without quanta control, perm control, and mid-high range cost-effective creatures there was just no reasonable way for Xinef to win.

I personally won't be disclosing my strategies prior to my matches but in this case it didn't alter my strategy in the slightest.

Lol... that quote applies to Time vs Darkness only. As for beef, the only real beef is Theonlyrealbeef
Anyway, Pharaohs are comparable to Dragons in their rushing power, since they are practically a growing damage source. 3 damage / turn growth is comparable to the old Steam Machine. Another possibility is Golden Nymph rush, but I don't know if anyone has 6 Golden Nymphs... if I recall correctly, even Kael Hate doesn't. My golden nymph count is... oh whatever, just don't divide it by Zeru.
Personally, I never tried upped Fate Egg rush. Certainly it would be too risky against Fire though.

If you don't understand the rush power of Pharaohs, look at the screenshots. A pure Pharaoh rush is a bit faster (with a Time mark, 6 Pharaohs, 6 Scarabs or Deja Vu or Fate Eggs, 18 Time Towers) and would be capable of beating that bolt+fahrenheit deck, but I took mark of Gravity and some Rewinds in case of a creature rush. That's all. Pharaoh rush also works nicely with some Golden Nymphs to speed things up even further.
