Ryan gave up his generalship.  He was stripped of his Master title.  He was in chat early this morning very upset over not being Master and SG confirmed that his title was revoked because his conduct during the War up to him resigning was not up to the standards expected from a Master and led to his dismissal.

Ryan is no longer Master, and that's confirmed by SG earlier today as well as by the fact that his forum posts no longer include the "Master of Light" title above his name.

OK, that galls me just a little.  He beat four people out for Master of Light only to abandon his post a couple months later?  He owes more people than just his War team an apology over this - Dm1321 and jippy too.  He went undefeated against all of us, using the same deck nearly every time - a deck he admitted to getting from xdude.

I have a silly question... What is the significance of Masters earning points (via their mini-tournament and their performance in war)? Since it's "best challenger vs. Master," not "person with highest score vs. person with 2nd highest score," what are Masters' points for?

Bummer, anti-lurking rules always bum me out, man.  I'm over 100k in score and have been on the forums/playing for 19 months but I can't 'spam' to up my post count and challenge?  Is there a post rank system to determine whether people with 200 posts already didn't 'spam' over time? I mean, as a community do we really want to reward posts by volume? sounds like spam to me.

Trials come pretty often.  The last Trials weren't that long ago.  If you really want to challenge a Master, just start being a little more active on the forums and you'll easily reach the post count by the next go 'round.  Masters are expected to be fairly active on the forums with regard to their element of choice, to lead their element's team a General in the next War, etc. - Masters who lurk after they gain their title aren't very good Masters, so it makes sense that there would be a rule to weed out lurkers from the Trials, to make sure challengers have already been somewhat involved on the forum.  Anyway, if no one knows you on the forums well, you're gonna have a really hard time making a dent in Phase 3.
