Prologue
This is a beta version of our Trial system where you can challenge a Master and take his or her title.
This first version is relatively simple because I've been so busy I haven't had time to concentrate on this all that much.
After this first event is over, we will gather feedback and try to make the event better and bigger for the next time. Also I will appoint a person whose sole job is to run this one event every 2 months.
We will start with the vote. I will add more stuff here later.
If you have any questions, please post them on this thread. Thanks.
TRIALSJoining TrialsEvery 2 months, 48 players get a chance to participate in Trials, in which 12 players are chosen, one from each element. These 12 then have a chance to take the title from one of the current masters.
Requirements for becoming a challenger:- 5,000+ score in Elements
- 50+ forums posts
If you meet these requirements, you can apply for one of the 12 trials (threads coming soon). Keep in mind that
only 4 challengers can join one trial (4 x 12 = 48 challengers), so be quick before your spot gets taken.
You can only challenge one Master at a time. If you fail, you need to wait for 2 months to get another chance. Look for forums for more information.
Gathering PointsThe idea is that all the participants gather
points which can be later used to take upgraded cards into your deck when the final battle starts. The more points you get, the stronger your deck will be, giving you an advantage.
Challengers can obtain a maximum of 22 points and Masters a maximum of 30 points.
Phases 1 and 4 are the same for both the challengers and the Masters. Phases 2 and 3 are somewhat different.
PATH OF THE CHALLENGERThere are 4 different phases. Phases 1 and 2 can each give you for up to 10 points, while phase 3 only gives you for up to 6 points. Your total score determines the number of upgraded cards you can use in your deck during the 4th and final phase.
PHASE 1 - Community voteThe community votes on who they think would make the best Master. Each community member has one vote per element, and can vote for either a challenger or the current Master.
The number of points you score is based on the percentage of votes you get, rounded up. If there is a situation where rounding up would mean more than 10 points given, the player with the most votes gets the advantage (55%/45% -> 6 points and 4 points).
100% of votes | 10 points |
90% of votes | 9 points |
80% of votes | 8 points |
70% of votes | 7 points |
60% of votes | 6 points |

PHASE 2 - Proving of WorthinessThis phase is different in each Trial. It usually has something to do with helping out the community, but it can also be something where you show your skills as an Elements player. It's divided into 2 parts, both scoring 5 points if you complete them. A Challenger can skip this phase if he or she so chooses.

PHASE 3 - Challenger BattlesChallengers will fight each other in a mini-tournament with round-robin rules meaning each challenger fights every other challenger once. Battles are "best-of-three" with the winner gaining 1 point. At the end of the round points are calculated and standings are built. In case of a draw, we go to a sudden victory match.
