Fun is always important. If a game wasn't fun, you wouldn't be playing it. ;) There's a difference between "being creative" (which I think is more of your mindset, Malduk) and "having fun" (e.g., I don't equate losing to being fun). Both areas can overlap, though, depending on the individual. It's just a matter of perspective. I was a little surprised to see that there wasn't any win percentage required for decks, but not having that does allow people to create more original decks.

So, no rares and no upped cards. That would make sense, while also filling the less explored area of AI5 grinding.
I really like that idea.

I am almost about to give up after having spent 10 hours grinding to afford a deck that follows all the rules and doesnt have a less than 50% win rate.

This is not fun for me, it is making me mad at the game.

Yeah, I have given up on going unupped and rareless for option 1 too, after having tried a FFQ/Hope deck, a Light/Aether hybrid, a Pegasus rush with Wings, and a Dune Scorpion/Blessing deck.  None of the above ever won once.

I gave up option 1 too. But there's still the other 2 options. However, I really dislike the third option. I thought WoE and Elements the Game were supposed to be entirely different things. A master of an element should not be expected to join WoE.

Master is not expected to comment on card ideas. Master is not expected to have an account that has enough upgraded cards to make a deck that can fight HBs. Master is not expected to join WoE or know anything about it, war bonus is not fair, voting is just a popularity contest. I heard all of those so far, on forum or chat. Not that I strictly disagree with any separate point, but what are people expecting from Trials? Just a regular tournament with 4-5 participants, where winner gets to sit back and look pretty? Hell, lets turn it to be completely unupped, and remove post count / score limits for entering, because everything has to cater perfect beginners and lazy players. We dont want to discriminate them, right?
I may not get many votes for saying this, but if anyone finds ANY of 3 options in any way hard, maybe he/she shouldnt have applied for this in the first place.

I agree on the last point. None of the challenges are hard; they just take a bit of time. Edit: for me anyway.
The only problem I have is that some elements have a very hard time making a good unupped HB deck, so they'll make a bad one just to get it done. Not really useful to anyone. It's a good challenge though, as it brings out some good strategies if nothing else.

Master is not expected to comment on card ideas.
If this is in reference to me, that's not what I said. I just don't like the specific format that's setup currently. I actually have more posts in the crucible than in any other section except for team air.

As for the other two ideas not being directly related to being a master, I agree. However that isn't the intent of option 2 and 3. They are meant to show that you're an active member of the community, which is a trait that might not necessarily be required, but is still very nice to have.

Never mind. Although I never complained about anything was unfair or too hard, I notice that the trials are about "helping the community", and writing about WoE will benefit the community. While I still stand by my point that WoE and Elements the Game should be kept separate, I see that option 3 is perfectly legitimate to have as part of the trials. Thank you for opening my eyes.

I am not complaining that you change it. Just voicing my frustration and the fact that I am very close to quitting the trials so I can live my life rather than spend 8+ hours of my weekend trying to solve this interesting, but difficult puzzle.

I remember back in the day... when masters did the work, not because they had to, but because they wanted to. Look at essence and xdude as perfect examples. They put the dedication into their element every day, that people are complaining about having a week to do. They embody the element, not because of their stature, but because of how they are every day on this forum. If theres a heated discussion about a  :water card, Essence is there and brings reason to the situation.  :light cards are getting basjed, and you see xdude come in and pawn them.

Zeru, although I didnt mention him previously (partially because im biased towards jmizzle  :P) also does a wonderful job.

A weapon that only works in very early game and than is something comparable to a Dagger? Furthermore you need at least 3 copies to get one fast enough. That means 2 dead cards in your deck and you are still not guaranteed to get it fast enough.
I challenge you to build a discord based deck that will defeat any mono (you pick the element) I create.
6x Discord
4x Animate Weapon
6x Black hole
10x Pendulum of Entropy
4x Some Gravity critter
Mark of Gravity
Would that work?

18 quantum pillars, 6 SoGs, 6 SoDs 4 Yellow Shards, 6 Relics.

Congratulations, you got owned by mono other :D
