Phase 1 - Proving Your Worthiness
    Phase 1 has ended

This phase is different in each Trial. It usually has something to do with helping out the community, but it can also be something where you show your skills as an Elements player. Both the Master an a Challenger can skip this phase (and not get points) if he or she so chooses.

Below are three different options. Each participant has to choose and complete two of these options.

    OPTION I
    Elements the Game
    Fighting Half Bloods

    • Design a deck that is at least 50% your own Element (rounded up), without the most 'popular card', that is capable of defeating Half Bloods.
    • Banned Card List (nobody may use any of them):

      • Fractal
      • Owl's Eye
      • Steal
      • Bonewall
      • Pulverizer
      • Antimatter
      • Explosion
      • Otyugh
      • Adrenaline
      • Miracle
      • Eternity
      • Ice Shield
    • Post a ttw test for 40 wins. Average ttw must be 30 or below.
    • You must post these decks in the proper sections and a link to them in the "Phase 1" Topic of your element.
    • Trainer is not allowed

    OPTION II
    Elements Forums
    Card Ideas

    • Constructively critique 6 Card Ideas of your chosen element (found in the Card Ideas & Art board), to assist with community feedback regarding deck/card ideas.
    • You cannot choose your own card ideas
    • All Card Ideas must be in main section (level 0) or in Crucible. You cannot choose cards that are level 2 or above.
    • Posts need to have at least 200 words, and must have reasonable, non-disrespectful content for the author to benefit from.
    • Post a link to your comments on the "Phase 1" topic of your element.

    OPTION III
    Elements Article
    Article Writing

After you have successfully completed 2 of the options above, you will receive the full 10 points. If you complete only one option, you get 5 points.

Remember that how well you do during Phase 1 will most likely affect your score during Phase 3 (the vote).

If you have any questions, please post them here.

    Good luck everyone.[/list]

Yay, it has started! I really like these new "rules" especially the Option II & III since it can partly help me decides who is more mature (at least by the way they're thinking); something that I feel really important for being a master. Let's just hope that everyone is being true and play fair. ;)

p/s: I'm quite disappointed reading the light challengers comments in Phase I thread. Or am I wrong? - did the rules changed before they posted the questions?

Are Green Nymphs allowed or is that banned because of adrenaline?

I suppose the same question goes for Purple Nymphs.

I'm guessing upgraded cards are allowed for option 1. Do we do the tests on main account or trainer?
Also, why forbid decking a HB? Without Eternity, Miracle and perma control, it wont be easy anyway.

I changed it. Old system sucked because many players were mathematically eliminated going into the battle phase. Even if they had won, they would have been the #2 Contender, so it was pretty lame. This way there will be more suspense until the end.

Define "...capable of defeating Half-Bloods." What win percentage does it need?

If a TTW test for 40 games means a TTW test for 40 wins here, it should be changed. When doing a TTW test for 40 games, you record losses as well in order to find out winning rate, then calculate TTW on the won games.

Also, with the current rules, you could technically win 1 game and lose 39. That won't happen, but we could, however, get really bad decks or just plain rushes with bad win rates.

For the deck TTW, would it make sense if I made the same deck, just one with healing/ one w/o, would 80 games be needed? 40 games for each variant?

As long as you do 40 games with one variant and post that as the entry for the challenge, you're good. Can't change it mid-testing, but posting variations once you're done wouldn't do any harm.
