After all the complaints and questions for clarifications (including mine) I'd like to also add a praise to Oni:

This element-graph based deck restriction system brings in a whole new, fresh strategic angle into the meta. It is not only a limitation on what you can use, but also a limitation on the opponent, therefore reduces somewhat the guessing game (mind-gating) about what your opponent might bring in any specific game during the match.

I really like this aspect, even though it does require more time to think it through and make educated choices.

A HUGE second to that comment, Zso.  The more I dig in to build a ban list and deck options this complexity is turning my Trials preparation into a fun task.    Imagine that - a game being fun!?!

Personally i don't have that much time to decipher the consequences of these rules and build strategies, especially since they can be easily ruined by pre-match bans. i'll probably just build decks on the spot. otherwise i would loath everyone for making me do such things.

I really do not think praiseworthy, I'm trying to decipher the sequence of the elements, based on the image, do not know if I can make a deck with 5 or more elements.
make a system that renews and avoid mindgating is good,  but complicated rules that can lead to countless illegal decks you think good?
and hain is right, the ban can now undo meta games

Perhaps an image arranged like this (and not drawn by hand on pad of paper) helps clear up that aspect of your confusion, Vang?

I like that image much better. Would it be possible to add it to the OP? It makes much more sense not having to decipher lines.

Hummm... , helped a lot, thanks so much Rob, I now know that gravity can only use 3 Initials elements and fire can use 4, (and it helps mind gate)

yeah that image is much clearer - I think however the image in the OP is written by Zanz as he was brainstorming ideas for the start of the Elements

This is quite true, and was definitely 100% the basis of how I mad the MSPaint version.  I can't think of any reason outside of nostalgia to force the original and inherently less clear version to have to be on this Trials' rule page...?  (_NOT_ that you were trying to make a case for that, though)

I can't decide what way to go.. since I made multiple decks for each duo with Entropy and a couple others...

...I'll be using random.org to figure out where to go after each match and what elements to use in what order
