I'd also like a kind of a loyalty bonus. It does sound rightEven if it makes it harder for me to win the Trials.

Well not necessarily inside trials, could be anything that makes it more attractive to try and stay master of one Element as long as possible.

The thing is, any reward shouldn't be at the expense of first-time trial competitors.
Also, if staying true to your element is looked upon positively by the community, wouldn't the "reward" for doing so be present in the community vote?
Walk towards the :light...

Yes, that is actually why I'd prefer something outside of trials. Like a cooler icon or special reputation or something if you manage to keep your position for multiple terms.

Also, if staying true to your element is looked upon positively by the community, wouldn't the "reward" for doing so be present in the community vote?
And not something so marginal.

Still dislike war bonus. Still dislike more that challengers who go in the same element as they were war wise don't get bonus points/reduced bonus points if they get to the final battle (As having it effect if they get there is unfair to other participants). I see no reason why a general should be rewarded and not their staff.

As far as loyalty bonus goes: Depends
Mention how hard you're committed to your element in phase 3, pander to get the votes if you wish, unless its added for the final battle with a cap (2-3 extra points). 1st joiners aren't really negatively effected (Possibility: Voters who vote to even out ups). People who try multiple times in an element without winning/winning then losing/etc get a perseverance bonus. Plus returning masters get an inherent bonus over newcomers, which is a nice plus.

TL;DR: I prefer adding final battle points instead of points that make others have disadvantages.
You're just as selfish as I am. You're just not as good at it yet.

I agree with most that Oni said, every player from the team should receive the bonus points, at least 1/3, 2/3 would be the best value since auction doesn't makes more than 1/3 of the work.

Also add bans in Phase 2, at least in element.

Agreed with oni there. The team is just as important, if not more, than a general :v

+1 Onizuka's ideas.

I would suggest that Phase 1 tasks be Mastering and War related only.  Posting feedback on decks is nice, but I would prefer potential Masters be showing off skills that are related to to the position (ie. winning wars).  Design an event card for War is great, or create a new balanced card that would help your team in War, or write an article on War strategy, or provide 250 words feedback on improving War... stuff like that.

Dislike that proposition. In my mind, mastership is the reward for winning trials. After that, what you do with it (War, Brawl, spreading the love of all that is blue and pretty, tweaking war rules so that - gets killed by bj - , ect) is your decision and yours alone.

And in almost everyone else's mind, a master is who will be war general. Obviously there are exceptions, like blonde last war.

In general I like plastiqe's idea of integrating war into trials more, but it seems pretty limited and not really practical. Phase 1 is basically busy work, which isn't all that fun, but I can appreciate the fact that it gets new members some feedback and ultimately interest in staying in the community. I feel like card design for last trials was kind of a joke (at least for me it was because I am awful at that sort of thing), but I did like the event card design idea from last trials. I have no idea if any of those ideas were used last war, or if they will be used this war. Either way, I feel like the tasks that will be asked of us should be useful in some way to war/brawl or the community.
