Round 9 Lore
There are worlds out there where the skies are burning, and where the sea's asleep, and the rivers dream. People made of smoke and cities made of song. Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice, and somewhere else the tea's getting cold.

Doctor Who Video
Doctor Who Music

DRAGONSDEMESNE: At last, we have defended the Sontaran Empire against all invaders.
TRASHDUKE: Invaders? We were the ones who attacked them!
GINYU: Quiet, boy. Do not bother us with unimportant details.
DRAGONSDEMESNE: Our next mission is to defend ourselves against the Time Lords of Gallifrey.
GINYU: We must explode the crack in the universe to allow the Time Lords entry.
DRAGONSDEMESNE: And then, we shall obliterate them!
TRASHDUKE: This plan is nonsensical. The Time Lords could only possibly attack us if we give them entry.
GINYU: And once we do, we shall strike them at once.
DRAGONSDEMESNE: It is the only course of action to protect the Sontaran Empire.
TRASHDUKE: Your suggestion would result in our obliteration!
DRAGONSDEMESNE: I do not understand.
TRASHDUKE: We can’t destroy ten billion Time Lords with only three Sontarans.
GINYU: It’s easy if we have a powerful weapon enough.
TRASHDUKE: And where can we find such a weapon?
DRAGONSDEMESNE: I do not know, but I shall destroy it.
TRASHDUKE: I’ve had enough of this. I can’t let you ruin our Empire.
(trashduke slays dragonsdemesne with a longsword.)

Trashduke, you traitor! You shall DIE!

Root, in case I beat trashduke, shall we simply play another match right after or wait for Round 10 to be posted?

Match 1!

Ginyu - 3
trashduke - 1

Congrats and a good match Ginyu!  It was a weird one for me (too many distractions going on at home), but it was a well deserved win on his side.

will update this later tonight....

Spoiler for Hidden:

I made multiple mistakes in this game before the disconnect; it probably could have come out differently if I had been thinking straight. But given my mistakes early in the game, and that Ginyu wouldn't have derped like an AI, he deserved the win.

We both had good draws, but I was a turn behind him and he got some clutch BHs when needed....  gg and match overall.

Best part is that Trenza continues and we get a rematch tomorrow!
Congrats once again Ginyu and I'll see you soon!

Cata-Titans vs. Swallow. Good match up + him getting an 1-Pillar-draw = easy WIN.

Raging Guards vs. Fractal-whatever-you-draw. When he drew only Pillars, I thought it might be just a Lightning Splash, but it turned out it was... SoFoTal. I slowly built damage up, and my Chimera combined two Guards later on to hit through Gravity Shield, until it got triple-bolted. We disconnected, I won fairly easily with two raged Guards hitting him, while my AI derped and wasted the Pots on SoFo, losing the game. trashduke proved being a sportsman when giving me the WIN. Thank you!

Adrena-Rush vs. DBH. After his RNG went under-average so far, it pulled out a very good draw, with 2 Novae and 1 Discord in his opening draw with his deck size. And when Disco trolls, it trolls hard. I could play one Adrena-Charger, but had no chance. I resigned when the Nymph came out. LOSS

DBH vs. Titanbow. Quite the same as last game with switching fields. I got a great draw with an early Disco, keeping his quanta low and beat him with medium damage. WIN

Match 2!

Ginyu - 1

Excellent games and a great match series overall!  Thanks Ginyu!

Does that mean I saved Trenzalore?

He bolted an early SoFo but I was able to pop out an Oty and SoPa on the same turn... which set me up well. Midgame I had two Oty-s and a SoFo or two. He had a good play to bolt one Oty and G-pull the other one, and drop two mercs, but I was able to freeze them and then keep building up with SoPa.  He then Chimera'd everything which may or may not have been his best move (I would have been able to eat the mercs before they were unfrozen, but he might have gotten Fractal in time), but then I was able to kill the Chimera since it was g-pulled. With nothing to fractal it was gg from there.

Had a good draw, but was a turn too slow to stop him from getting a flying titan out.  Wouldn't have been too bad, but then he OD'd it which was a great move.  I g-pulled the titan but wasn't able to heal nor kill it in time.  Well played!

Went back and forth about bringing this one, but it turned out doing OK. I had all quanta and a fractal in my opening hand and he popped two mercs and one charger. I fractalled his charger and started plowing into his HP. I also soon had a lightning in hand, so even had he drawn Adren later in the game I'm not sure this one would have worked out differently, but in any case, I was lucky that one didn't come early.

Had a good draw, but no disco, saw his dark quanta get to 2 and had to BH. Thankfully disco showed up on my 3rd turn, just when I could play it - extremely lucky!
I popped the nymph next turn and had a nova in hand so that I could cast BH next turn. The game was pretty much locked from there, so Ginyu gracefully resigned.

will post details tonight....

It was a very close match, with RNG likely playing the biggest factor overall.

Thanks again Ginyu!

Ginyu 1 - 3 trashduke

Congratulations to the win! RNG hit me hard in this match, but your victory is very well deserved.

Lightning-Guardtal vs. Swallow. Not a good match up here, as Lightnings weren't enough to beat most of his creatures. I decided to play a Chimera later on, thinking I would rather draw one creature before a Fractal, and failed heavily. I got both Fractals, but no more creatures than the Guards who formed the Chimera. I might have a chance keeping my Guards, even though they were frozen. LOSS

OD-Titans vs. DBH. I got very lucky with being able to play a Titan and casting OD on it. I wasn't able to play anything else further, but my Titan did its job. Nice way to WIN.

Adrena-Rush vs. Fractal-whatever-you-draw. In testing, my deck continuosly got 6-7ttw, but that were times when I actually drew Adrens. From turn 2 on, an Adren would have been very strong, even with a Bolt after. I didn't draw one, and in the last turn when it wouldn't have mattered anymore... I still didn't get one. Thank you, RNG. I made so many thoughts on what to bring. I expected some kind of counter to my DBH, so either Lightnings or his own DBH. I predicted false, but still had a chance with Voodoos. However, him getting an awesome draw with early Discord, BH and Nymph didn't let me the chance to do the same as in G2. When his Nymph started, I resigned. LOSS

trashduke told me after the game I should be the scalp-hunter. Thinking about it, from Round 2 on, I eliminated a player every round, except my loss vs. Puff and now. So, 5 eliminations, nice.

I wonder what would have happened without my 4 dead support cards that I couldn't test, but it is still great to see a Sontaran climbs to the top! Gravity rules, with places 1, 2 and 3 conquered! As told, very deserved win to trashduke. Thanks for the great matches!

Final Lore
The universe stands on the brink. Will you let it fall?

Doctor Who Video
Doctor Who Music

GINYU: You killed my commander!
TRASHDUKE: I thought you were both Generals.
GINYU: There are eleven different hierarchies of Generals.
TRASHDUKE: Well, that would explain why there are so many of you.
GINYU: Not anymore. Most of us were killed by the Time Lords, and the rest died on Trenzalore.
TRASHDUKE: So, there are really only two of us?
GINYU: Plenty enough to defeat the Time Lords!
TRASHDUKE: No, it’s not. It would be a slaughter.
GINYU: If we cannot agree, we must settle the matter with combat.
(Ginyu lunges at trashduke with his sword, but trashduke deflects him.)
(trashduke strikes Ginyu in his heart, and Ginyu falls dead.)

And so it came to pass that trashduke, sole survivor of the Battle of Trenzalore and last of the Sontaran Empire, began to rebuild his race. He now lived in a universe devoid of Time Lords, Daleks, Cybermen, Silents, Weeping Angels, and Ice Warriors. Or so he thought…
