As promised, here's the backbone of the decks I used in the tournament.  This is the first tournament where I had entensively use more than a single deck.  There were so many outstanding decks out there that it was impossible to solo-deck it, at least for the builds I made.  There were so many creative and imaginative combinations this time.  If Hisar posts with mitosis devourer deck you'll all be in for a treat.  That thing was wicked!  Despite the marathon tournament and the connection problems, for sheer PvP quality and imagination this has been by far my favorite tournament.  Kudos to all the other competitors for making this such a great event, and big thumbs up to the TO's on a great idea.  Special thanks to Higurashi for being so patient.  You really went above and beyond this time and I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say thanks and well-done.

And now to the decks......

This is a rainbow I used in earlier rounds.  I also used a modified version of Grabbix after bouncing thoughts with QuantumT after his East win.  Ultimately neither one had the consistency I wanted but they were a good change-of-pace for early one andfor using against stall.

Code: [Select]
5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f5 5f5 5f5 5f7 5f8 5f8 5fb 5fb 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5l8 5l8 5lh 5li 5li 5lm 5lm 5lm 5lm 5lm 5lmBy far the go-to deck for me when I needed to pull out a win was this one.  It plays just like a lava rush, but instead has a "fail to start" failsafe built in with the wardens.  They can stall the field down until you draw the creatures you need to start the blitz.  It's a nice versatile deck that I've used as a rush and as a control deck depending on the situation.  Plus is has a couple Phoenix's, and a certain Fire master once told me that no deck can complete without a Phoenix!
Code: [Select]
58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 590 590 596 596 596 596 596 596 5f6 5f6 5f8 5f8 5f9 5f9 5f9 5f9 5f9 5f9 5fa 5fa 5fa 5fa 5fc 5fcSpecial thanks go out to QuantumT for giving me ideas to tweak my rainbow; to DesertKnight and Mithcairion for helping deck test with me; to jmdt for helping me figure out the QI to balance the pillar/pendulum numbers for optimization.  I hope I didn't forget anyone!
Carpe Diem!!

despite our rivalry, congratulations on your win TStar, it's funny how I didn't use phoenixes at all..
had a deck in mind, but when I saw how popular fire stall is in eastern, I deleted the deck

I used variations of deck 1 and 2. Like you, I constantly made tweaks to the fire stall. I had a couple other decks that I liked, but 1 got banned, and the others generally couldn't keep up with the first 2 or were specific counters that were useless against most other decks.

Props to your 3rd deck though. Very original and very tough to beat.

Would have been interesting if we wouldn't have desynced so many times, and if I didn't have other obligations :(
