In the prelims, I got very lucky against TheIdioticIdiot.  He was kicking my ass with a 14/17 or so Elite Charger.  I managed to kill later chargers with rage pots, and play some of my own creatures, but that one was trouble.  Then, on the turn where I would have lost, I used Mind Gate and see... Improved Heal!  TII had been using a life mark, I guess just for those.  I play it, buying a turn, and it was enough to win.

I didn't have a life mark...
I had :gravity mark
I was using a variation of SCEM

Hmm... I thought I remembered you having a life mark.  You had life quanta somehow, anyway, because I remember you cast the Improved Heal right after.

I used this, trying to establish lockdown fast with bh/discord, then drop the nymph on them. Late pillars to be crunched by the cats. Sadly, RR had just one :earth which was enough to bb my nymph.

I don't think I'll be joining tourneys if organizers can't make up their minds on a bracket 20mins past the starting time.
New rules mean we have to post a prelim bracket, then re-randomize and post a final bracket.  The problem is the Challonge! bracket website it having issues loading for most people which slowed things down considerably.
Link to this rule pls.
Read the stickies, please.
Update: untill new chat arrives we are going to publish brackets first to see if everyone is on them. After missing people have been added (we only need to hear a word from people not on the list, not all 9001 people on them need to confirm they are), we'll add missing people to the brackets, rerandomize (matchups won't be the same) and publish final brackets afterwards. If you don't inform of not being on brackets on time, or you're just late in entering the tourney room, your fault, not anyone elses.
How is it a rule that brackets are to be changed well into the tourney time? There are people in chat - copy thier names and put them into brackets. But wait, someone is late, we have to put them in brackets 5mins later?

the problem was that the chat list sometimes leaves out names of people who are actually there. they are not including people who are late but people who have been left out.

i c
i suggest brackets are to be made 1 hour earlier in that case
and while editing the rules to accomodate presumably buggy chat, i suggest removing the rule of player not responding resulting in a loss

Hehe, that's funny. Brackets don't take long to make unless challonge messes with you. If it does, it doesn't matter if you need to make two: it'll still take a long time.
Players not responding for 5 minutes is entirely up to the player. You can easily check if your chat has frozen by PM'ing yourself or just chatting. We have to have that rule so that rounds don't take too long, which they often still do.

Sorry for the trouble with Challonge.com yesterday. I'll be upgrading our servers this week and making some optimizations to prevent another day like that, so I greatly appreciate your patience. The 10+ second page loads were definitely noticed :-/
