I had six shards of gratitude, but as they were banned, I removed them and added 4 more sanctuaries (to make 5 total) , a quicksand (much better in pvp than for fg grinding) and a third quintessence (already had 2). Fallen Druid and Improved Antimatter were also banned, so I got rid of them, as well as my Feral Bond (which I felt would be too slow in pvp) for three Rage Potions. (thus, my 6 buffs were 3 rage potions and 3 quintessences) Then since Eternity was banned I added a second Pulverizer. I have absolutely no idea what my 60th card was anymore (lol, didn't import beforehand) and it's not one of the banned cards, but the last change was whatever that forgotten card was in exchange for a Discord, which I included because all my entropy was banned and I like having at least one of all element cards so as not to waste quanta.
In the prelims, I got very lucky against TheIdioticIdiot. He was kicking my ass with a 14/17 or so Elite Charger. I managed to kill later chargers with rage pots, and play some of my own creatures, but that one was trouble. Then, on the turn where I would have lost, I used Mind Gate and see... Improved Heal! TII had been using a life mark, I guess just for those. I play it, buying a turn, and it was enough to win.
My second opponent was Azumi. Game 1 he was playing a speed rainbow deck, and he was kicking my ass with black holes. Finally, on the last possible turn (again!) I Mind Gate a Supernova and it lets me play Sanctuary and Gravity Shield, completely stopping his black holes, and the abyss crawler, and adrenalined pumped stone gargoyle I was about to die to. After that he couldn't really do anything. Game 2 he used a gravity deck with chargers and black holes (dunno what his buff cards were that time, never saw any) and that was the one I lost. Then I swapped in 3 more rage pots and a 6th sanctuary and threw all my shields away since he was using momentum. He swapped to some really weird half-upgraded poison deck with poison and dune scorpions and I didn't have much trouble with it; dunno if he had a good draw or not.
Next was spiritkirinblade. He had ray of light/hope. He didn't do much damage to start, and when I got 5 fire quanta, Fire Storm wiped all his rays and leaf dragons out, including a couple with mitosis. After that, a pulverizer took care of his sanctuaries. With Feral Bond and Hope and nothing else on the board, he disconnected, and then claimed in chat he had had four jade dragons and that I had disconnected. I got into a bit of an argument with the TOs, and showed a screenshot, and spiritkirinblade ended up conceding.
In the quarterfinals, I was against girlsgeneration. (who eventually won, mirroring my first tournament, where I also lost in the quarterfinals to the eventual winner last week; this was my 2nd tourney) Game 1 she got two lava destroyers out on turn 1, and I had a crap hand; I think all I ever played was Sanctuary. Game 2 she had 24 attack power on turn 1 (2x immolate + fodder, 2x Lava Destroyer, 1x Ball Lightning, and 1x Chaos Power for +5 attack) I managed to firestorm the two destroyers at 9/3 but I still got my ass kicked on I think the 4th turn by the surviving 10/whatever ball lightning and some other creature she had that also survived that she'd gotten on turn 2 or 3. (forgot what it was now, but it also had 10 attack)
