Since I was probably the only person who knows the elements challenge password as a sub-organizer, I had to take over this tournament AGAIN, for like the 5th time I think. I got some help from veteran players such as Puppychow, Demagog, icecoldbro, etc. Thanks to them, and especially to icecoldbro who took over my place after I left.

Thankfully, today was a lucky day. Normally in an Eastern tournament, there are only around 20 people participating. However, there were over 35 people, mostly noobs. I don’t know why, but organizing was so much easier than the other ones I took over.

Now, to the tournament organizers: seriously, if you've planned a tournament, at least show up to organize it without forcing someone else to take the job... or don't plan a tournament in the first place. this has been going on for the past 4 weeks. i'm disappointed and literally one step away from saying you do not deserve the title.

Hope the organizers become more active.
Actually, I am the one who stepped in and fixed the tournament. It only took me about ten minutes to figure out what was going on and get the tournament moving again. Zeru mentioned that he had been waiting for one hour for a tournament organizer to decide his opponent in the semifinals. If it wasn't for Darkslay sending me a PM, I would have never come in to save the tournament and it probably would have ended horribly, if at all.

I don't know who was in charge of this tournament, and I really don't care how many times it was handled by whom, but if you are hosting a tournament and you have a sudden emergency, you absolutely MUST have a backup plan/organizer to ensure the tournament runs smoothly.

Whoever has the redeem codes, PM the prized to the top four if you have not already done so.

i did have a backup plan cuz there were four people helping me. 10 min before i left, i appointed icecoldbro as the organizer to continue on with the tournament.

i take the initiative and organize the tournament, then the only thing i receive is criticism. fine. i'm an absolute idiot. i won't touch the tournament organizing ever again.

tourney organizers, give up your title if you guys are gonna be like this, making tournaments and never showing up to organize them.

This is the only post I'll make on this thread, and I'm surprised this hasn't been locked already.

Actually, you have a silent majority supporting you GG.  I applaud your efforts of hosting the Eastern Tournament when no organizer was in sight.  Unfortunately you had to leave, but you never planned to host the thing anyway.

As for the organizers, I'm sure there was just a miss-communication, so there is no need for punishment really.

I apologize on behalf of jmizzle7. I think he misunderstood the situation a bit, thinking that you were somehow in charge of this tournament, and it was your job to make sure everything ran smoothly.

You stepped up when our Tournament Organizers dropped the ball, so even if you had sucked more then any Tournament Organizer in the history of tournament organizing, you still had initiative and volunteered to help which is more than enough. And you've helped out before as well, always getting good feedback, so I'm sure the community appreciates that.

You were not responsible at all for that tournament, so there is no excuse to blame you for anything that happened before, during or after that tournament. Period.

I will now proceed to give rewards for the winners of this tournament. Sorry for the delay. I'm really hoping that this will be done by our Tournament Organizers in the future because this kind of micro-managing takes a lot of my time.

I probably should have said something earlier but I knew I might not have time these couple of weeks which is why I didn't take the initiative of creating new tournament topics. My fault for not saying anything but it wasn't a definite that I wouldn't be available.

Good thing is I will be free in 2 days time so I'll be available for the next few Eastern tournaments at least.

Also, Sg just stated that the winners will receive their codes. However, I read jmizzle7's topic in the private "Tournaments" folder, which had no reply so I thought nobody had given codes out yet. I then checked the codes topic and did not see anything being crossed out for the Eastern tournament this week so I actually sent a code to majofa (the first un-struckthrough one which begins "1K..."). Then I decided to check this topic and saw what Sg stated above. Therefore, I won't be giving out codes unless there is some confirmation that the top 4 still haven't received them. If they have already we need to know if they are indeed the first 4 out of the ones which are not crossed out. If not then we could have a problem.

I sent all 4 codes to winners. I also crossed the names. You probably visited that topic while I was sending them and hadn't yet edited the post.

Girlsgeneration and I only had a slight misunderstanding. I was not singling her out in any way, and we are cool now. :)

It's all good. The good news is the tournament was a success, everybody had fun, and our winners got their prizes. We can all treat this as one big learning experience. As the saying goes, "Practice makes improvement!" :)
