If there's no eq/trident to destroy stacks, it's actually to your (extremely slight) advantage not to make a split. That way, your opponent has less choice when using Steal, and is less likely to be able to count how many pillars/pends you have left in your deck. In hainkgara's deck, for instance, he has 14 pillars; suppose he had eight pillars out. You can make a good guess how many are left, but it's harder to know. Now, suppose instead of six pillars out, he had seven pillars and a pendulum. You know he's very likely to have about 6 pendulums left at the least if he split it equally. (as I said, an extremely slight advantage in both points, and unlikely to ever influence a game)
