Quote
You can only use mono and duo decks.
26 Quantum Pillars, 4 Antlions, Earth mark.

I am really confused. When you say (not copies!) this implies you mean 4-7 different types of cards, since copies (afaik) mean individual cards. You should remove that part in that case.
Removed. ;) Sorry for the confusion about that one. Blame Dm. :P

  • You can only use maximum 4 pillars/pendulums/mark cards matching your mark (you can't use 2 pillars and 3 pendulums in the same deck for example).
  • You must use 4-7 (non-pillar/pendulum/mark) cards (not copies!) matching your mark.
  • You can only use mono and duo decks.

[Nitpick mode on]
If you can have max 4 pillars/pendulums/mark cards matching your mark + max 7 non-pillar/pendulum/mark cards (not copies!) matching your mark. => that's a total of max 11 cards matching your mark, which is far less than 30, so you cannot really make a mono deck.
So you might as well say in the last rule: "You can only use duo decks."
[/Nitpick mode off]

ps: Oh, what about 'Other' cards, are they allowed ? Because then you can technically make a mono deck even if its pretty bad...

Other cards are allowed, that's right. ^^

The Q&A in the second post is now updated with another clarification:

If you put a pillar/pendulum/mark card of an element in your deck without having any other cards from that element, it still counts as using said element. So this deck is a quartet, thus illegal:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]

When you complete a best of 3, do you have to continue your element rotation into the next match, or can you pick a new element to start with?

This should be made more clear in the instructions or FAQ as it seemed to me to state the opposite of what you put here, Sub.   ?_?

Thus why I asked it ;)

I figured that was the intention, but it wasnt clearly stated.

I can only assume that in order to make sure people follow this through that our starting element will have to be PM'd to TO prior to tournament start and will be included on the bracket?

Here is an attempt to make the rules as clear as possible:

- Upgraded cards are not allowed.
- You can start the tournament's first duel with any mark
- After your first duel, deck marks must be changed in the following order in the entire game:
:entropy --> :death --> :gravity --> :earth --> :life --> :fire --> :water --> :light --> :air --> :time --> :darkness --> :aether --> :entropy
- Let's call pillars, pendulums and standalone mark cards quantaperms. If you want to use any quantaperms that match your deck's mark, you can include maximum 4. This rule doesn't stand only for pillars for example, but for all quantaperms altogether. So if you have 3 pillars and 1 pendulum matching your mark, you are using 4 quantaperms.
- You must use minimum 4 and maximum 7 cards that are not quantaperms but match your mark. By altogether, I mean that even copies of a card are counted as different cards.
- You can only use mono and duo decks.
- Dimensional shield, Fractal, Shard of Patience, Trident and Earthquake are banned

*fixed CAN to MUST
*fixed the 4-7 rule again

I decided not to use any non quantaperms of my mark, meaning the above rule doesn't apply. (the opening post suggests something else)
