Rules Please read the PvP Tournament rules carefully before joining the tournament. Remember to also read the Special Rules listed below!

Special Rules

• Always read the second post! It contains equally important information most of the time.
• Upgraded cards and shards are banned.
• Minimum 4 different types(Spells/Permanents/Creatures) of cards in each deck excluding pillars/pends.
• Maximum 4 different copies of cards are allowed in the deck, excluding pillar/pends.
• Maximum 4 different elements allowed in the deck, excluding pillar/pends.
• Deck size must be divisible by 4.
• Parallel Universe, Fractal, Mitosis, Mutation, Discord, Earthquake, Black Hole, Amber Nymph, Nymphs Tears, Nymph Queen and Blue Nymph are banned.

TOURNAMENTS FAQ

Q: What does it mean by 4 types?
A: Spells, Creatures, and Permanents each count as types.

Q: Can you give an example of 4 types?
A: Sure:
 - 2 different spells, and 2 different creatures would be legal.
 - 1 spell, 1 creature, and 2 permanents would be legal.
 - 1 spell, 1 creature, and 1 permanent would be illegal.

Why differentiate between permanent, creature and spell when 4 different creature cards form a legal deck (as well as any other combination of cards where you just include a single copy of a different card just to fill the 4th type). Also I see your examples include never more than 2 different cards of the same type and might be limited to exactly 4 types. Maybe a completely different ruleset was intended (or I suck at reading correctly)?
If its still possible to change, i suggest the following instead: Decks must contain at least 4 copies each of 4 distinct cards or decks must contain 4 different things of the following: Creature, Spell, Weapon, Shield and Permanent which goes into any of the normal permanent slots.
As in the op, Card copies of any card are limited to a maximum of 4 and the total decksize must be divisible by 4. And rainbow decks are not allowed.

To emphasize on what kaempfer wrote: I don't think you can have 4 different types when there are but 3 to choose from. In each example listed there are at least two non-different types. If something else is meant, clarifying why types are mentioned would be fabulous.
The implied meaning seems to be 4 different cards where the card type itself is irrelevant.

Perhaps some examples would do us good, tell us which is illegal and why:

For example, you have 4 Ash Eater, 2 Photon, 1 Miracle, and 3 Fire Shield in your deck. This means that you have 4 types of cards, as you have 2x creature (Photon and Ash Eater, 1x spell (Miracle), and 1x permanent (Fire Shield). You may have any amount of the singular categories, so long as you have a total of 4.

But if card type is defined as Creature/Spell/Permanent, doesn't this mean you're using 4 different cards? If you hadn't defined card types as Creature/Spell/Permanent but instead as "Ash Eater", "Miracle" etc. it's fine.
