This is my deck, a 30 cards monoQP. As you can see, it uses 29 upgraded cards, since i've to use 1 unupgraded card for using 1 element.

Now, I want to add some shards to this deck. Let's add a SoPa; I've to use 2 more unupgraded cards for the shard type, 1 more unupped card for each SoPa copy, 1 more unupped card because SoPa is
and it would be my second element in use. So, after adding 1 upped SoPa:

Adding more SoPa's would force me to use 1 more unupped card for each copy.
If instead I want to add another type of shard to that deck, for example SoV (2 copies), the number of mandatory cards is so calculated: 3 elements used ( Others,
,
) = 3 unupped cards; 2 shard types (
,
) = 4 unupped cards; 3 shard copies (1 SoPa, 2 SoV's) = 3 upped cards. Total of mandatory unupgraded cards = 10 cards.
