TOURNAMENTS FAQ

Q: What constitutes of a duo?
A: A duo deck is a deck that has at least 6 non pillar/pend/mark cards of 2 elements in it.

Q: Are 'other' cards permitted?
A: Yes, but they do not contribute to a duo, meaning that you still have to have 2 other elements in your deck.

Wouldn't it be easier for all of us to post the duos we used along with each result? Gives a bit more depth to strategy too.

That is a matter of strategy vs. mindgating, like "Would my opponent use his stronger decks now or keep them for the final?" The strategy-part is used more often, so we thought this way could be a good thing in this tournament.

If the majority would like a change, we will admit it. However, please do only speak up if you consider joining, as this is a subjective deccission and we are searching for personal preferences of participants rather than an objective result.

other cards are all banned (including marks)?

isn't better using only a duo one time in a round, instead of one time in all the tournament ? if someone gets a bye is a huge advantage, we all know that some elements are better than others, even winning a match 2-1 or 2-0 can change a lot of things.

if i win 2-1 three rounds i have 3 decks for the final, a guy that did all 2-0 has 6 decks; win 2-1 or 2-0 doesn't mean that u are skilled or more good than your opponent, but this give u a penalty for nothing that doesn't exist and should't exist and has no sense.

Off-element cards aren't allowed in your duo, if that's your question.

isn't better using only a duo one time in a round, instead of one time in all the tournament ? if someone gets a bye is a huge advantage, we all know that some elements are better than others, even winning a match 2-1 or 2-0 can change a lot of things.
Byes are an issue, thanks for pointing it out. We will discuss and post a note about this, soon.

if i win 2-1 three rounds i have 3 decks for the final, a guy that did all 2-0 has 6 decks; win 2-1 or 2-0 doesn't mean that u are skilled or more good than your opponent, but this give u a penalty for nothing that doesn't exist and should't exist and has no sense.
I don't see the issue, to be honest. Winning 2-0 rather than 2-1 is clearly better, and thus can result in a little advantage.

I don't see the issue, to be honest. Winning 2-0 rather than 2-1 is clearly better, and thus can result in a little advantage.

indeed if your opponent draws 7 creatures in the initial hand in pvp2 because is unlucky makes u a better player that totally deservers the advantage of having another deck against the opponent of the next round

if is better winning 2-0 than 2-1 why for choosing the 3-4 place in every weekly tournament there is a best of 3 battle instead of see who lost less matchs?

i think that some part of the rules in tournaments should be all consistent, is the first time i see a tournament where winning 2-0 is better than a 2-1, and like i said, winning 2-1 or 2-0 is the same.

btw, i will join the tournament etc, i am writing here instead of sending a pm to organizer because for me is a huge flaw and i wanna read the opinion of the other guys that will join.

FAQ states that 'other' cards, such as and are permitted.

For PvP purposes, Mark cards count as pillars of their respective element. eg: =

Luck is a part of all card games. Shall we punish people who win 2-1, because their victory in the 3rd game might have happened because of luck? We need to take on objective results rather than "might have been". This method has been used a few times (everytime when you had a restricted pool of decks), and no-one argued them so far.

About your valid point with the byes, we made the following decission:

In the case of less than 16 players, people who received a bye will lose 2 elemental duos per randomness.
Not allowing them to choose is trying to compensate that they didn't have to play to advance (thus didn't need to think about using stronger duos early), and further that they might have won 2-1 only, effectively losing 3 duos. They will get to know their losses via PM from the host.

Instead of PM-ing used duos to TO-s,isnt it better to post it together with match results?
Or,if not that way, both participants can send used duos of themself and opponent to TO.
So we can prevent repetitive duos.

I'll join if possible, depending on if my mom will let me use the computer. That being said, I rather agree with Manuel in the fact I hate how card pools get more restrictive based on prior match results. Also, I think the used duos should be made public as to give the tournament more strategy.
A world war? Am I invited?
Thanks to skotadi for saying this in chat. Made me laugh pretty hard, and fits with me not getting drafted. :silly:

(Skipping the first part as I believe Ginyu addressed that the same way I would)

Isn't there more strategy in -not- having the duos used public? For example, if we had duos posted, you're just looking at the duos your opponent has/hasn't used. But if they aren't posted, THEN we get into the theoretical situations, which involve a fair bit of thinking/strategy. "Has my opponent used this strong duo, or is he saving it for later rounds to clinch wins?" vs. "My opponent hasn't used this strong duo. He's saving it for later rounds to clinch wins."
