the rules just limit the usage of shard and no monos allowed but the abundance of duo makes it impossible to guess what deck a person is using even after declaring the element.
E.g. I choose I can include 6 off element card. Entropy will still benefit better than any other elements, graboid based decks will be abundant more of less like playing budokan and trials i supposed just that this has a even greater limit and ban.

Quick question about legalities.

Lets say I declare element X.
Would the following decks be legal?
54 element X + 6 element Y, mark of Y, no shards?
2 group A shards, 30 card deck with 6 cards upgraded (question here is do shards count as part of the number of unupped cards).  There are no cards of the element I declared in this deck.  Is that OK?

Solution?  Simple!  Never.  Quit.  Grinding. 

I don't have the need to unless it's about improving my score, otherwise, I guess having all ups doesn't help.

Btw, I think specific rules are rather too lenient for non-shard users. Almost all decks can be made and certain cards would make the deck much superior than the rest.

I think the rules should be clearer. Example:
1) The mark can be different but the mark-cards are considered an element's card.
2) If I do not use shard, I'll have to declare an element at the start, I'll have to use that element throughout. I can also use full upgrades with exactly 6 off element card.
3) If I include shards, I still have to declare an element and I've to add the no. of unupgraded card per shard used (un-upped shards too) but I'll not be required to use 6 off element cards

Is that correct? If so, hope this helps every participant.

If you're using shards, you can bluff your opponents by declaring an element (and it'll give you greater deck flexibility if your shard decks suddenly don't work out for some reason, and it's probably easier on the TOs if everyone just declares an element at the beginning), but the declared element has ABSOLUTELY NO EFFECT on your shard decks.

Unupped shards count as part of your unupped card count.

Now back to arena grinding. Shard grinding is such a nightmare... I have 9 copies of one shard and only 2 of another. Guess which one is banned and which one is the one I need?

Isn't that Shard of Wisdom? If there are 24 pillars/pendulums/un-upped cards, BUT you have 6 of Group A's shards, it should be 24 + 3*6 (or 18) cards, which would means that:

6 Shards of Group A = 44 unupped cards minimum.

6 Shards of Group B = 36 unupped cards minimum.
