Those were the ones I built today. Mostly I intended to speedbuild based on what element I was facing. Against Jenkar, my losses came in game 1 using a giant stall against a monodeath rush (he had holy flashes that he never drew) and I had very ugly RNG. In game 2, he had an extremely fast start with a no-control grabbow, and I had a slow start with a disquake; I was stuck with unplayable discords (1 nova all game), 2 quicksands vs no pillars (1 EQed the only one he played), and a deflag, and he played no permanents. His deck definitely outmatched mine in game 2, and he'd have won that most of the time, but game 1 I think he got very lucky, and I'd have won it most of the time.
I picked Air for a few reasons. One, because I wanted to be a rebel, as nobody else did. Two, I figured I could build a couple strong decks that were in completely opposite directions, and thus very difficult to counter all of them at once, hence I built chaos wyrms (with a bit of a twist using the UGs), EE/sanc stall, and FFQhope.
I don't know what everyone else did, but I expected big stall decks and discord-based decks to be some of the strongest, as well as extremely quick rushes, like monoearth graboid or grabbows or chaos wyrms.
