That was not intentional. We are open to hear ideas on how to improve them.
I'm not sure exactly how you can improve the rules, as the idea of using SoI as the main card of the tournament is flawed. You have very few ways in which you can build a good SoI deck, as these don't usually work well with other cards. This will lead to a low-skill tournament which is decided mostly by coin flips. I am confident that with these rules, you will have everyone use almost the same deck, the only questions being which shards to run 6 of, which shards to upgrade, which mark to use and if you use long swords/gavels, the main idea of the deck still being the same.
Moreover, SoI decks are not interactive, as they have high hp and usually immortal, so there's little counterplay and usually just a race.
