I am glad that there are comments on the tourney idea, then I found something is missing...the poll is now up! Go vote

The rules of this tournament actively work against the idea of having the best player win. They also don't account for differences in the amount of matches played.
Upgrades can give advantage, but it is still the skill to decide who is winning. I think it makes sense to give players a higher chance (not a must) to have a higher amount of upgrades.
From the comments I see you guys are really concerned about the RNG factor, which you claimed that it is going to absolutely dominate the tournament. While it is true that in a 16-people tournament, a finalist can have as much as 24 upgrades vs 3 upgrades, you still have to lose a game in every match to achieve that and that surely is a risk. It also means that the finalist with 3 upgrades has been skillful enough to win with an upgrade disadvantage.
However I will still offer this rule update to you since I listen to you guys <3:
- Everyone starts the tournament with 3 Dimso (Preliminary round) or 6 Dimso (First round).
- For the first lost game in every match (i.e. 0-1), TO will roll a 1d6 and the loser will gain that many of Dimso.
- If the other player lost the second game (i.e. 1-1), that player will gain the same amount of Dimso as his opponent in last game.
- If a player wins a match with 2-0, he will be awarded with 3 Dimso before proceeding to next match.
I hope this is not getting too complicated, and any suggestions to improve my awkward English is welcomed.
