First of all, I want to thank submachine for making this a smooth tournament and a pleasant one, and to my oponents who are very sporting, and also to dawn of dusk for his list of magician cards. Those cards listed actually help me win the game. I am looking forward to submachine hosting again. It is definitely different from all my past tournaments and I kinda enjoy the chat.

The MVP here. This is the only deck I make for the tourny. I did not know this deck will reach that far and perform this well. All it needs is 2 nova and the deck will run.
But I wonder how the meta has changed. 1 year ago, I remember having a 30 card deck, but throughout all my matches, all my opponents is playing a 35+ card deck, has the meta changed? or only for this tourny?

1st round against serplex, I have a good hand. I got the magician card enchant artifact, which i use on my arsenic. and it cannot be stolen, so the poison finally took over. i dare not play my fog since i am afraid of steal, and my damage is keeping up with his using my poison and burrowed graboid. when he use his steal on the sole quantum pillar, i take the risk to play fog shield, and with the hax, i lead quite easily..

2nd round, 1 nova after 5-6 turns. I have to discard 2 graboid out of the 5 graboid in my hand. cannot do anything. my worst fear is not having 2 nova in starting hand. when i finally got my second nova to empty my hand, I am too late. hax shield also too late to stop his creature swarm.

3rd round, predicted the same deck, and use fire stall. I plan to just cc everything and stall with fire . Speedbuilt in less than 20 seconds. But the moment i saw he had the same number of cards as I have, I smack my head for not putting a single farenheit. firestall with no farenheit lol..  but i won coin toss, and he conceded when i ask him did he has any damage in the first place.


against ji412jo, his first deck is rustler, with emerald dragon and light cards. with magician card precog, he is very quanta starved and only 1 rustler. the moment i use the dry spell for his sole rustler, it is over for him.  second match, he use a death nymph vulture deck. interesting concept. thanks for magician card holy light, when his core card death nymph finally come, I flash her away and he quited. i think I might have seen interesting stuff that might happen.

against theelkspeaks, he start with fire stall, but i got an early arsenic. i just need to be careful with my graboid and burst when poison reach a strong threshold. second deck he start with purple nymph antimatter deck, early arsenic again save my day. not to mention fog shield keep hexing him.

last match against tirear, truth be told I am interested to see his deck. I know he is using aether life deck, but I am lucky to always get 2 nova starting hand this tourny except once , and i always manage to clear my hands with early arsenic too. Both times against tirear. He tweak his second deck I think, and plan to use pu flying druid staff, but with a big deck, it never come in time. I am quite interested to see his deck actually.

truth be told, arsenic and those magician cards won me this tourny. I normally don't play those magician cards in a grabbow. But after today i kinda learn the power of precog and shard of bravery potential in grabow. maybe I am just being lucky for someone who has been away for a year plus.

I am glad to be able to make a fire deck for this tourny at least.. and lucky enough to win the match without my favourite weapon.

Used for 8 out of my 10 matches. The original deck was prone to bad draws, and adding 10 cards to meet the tournament requirements should have made it worse, but it carried me through the tournament. I think a lot of that has to do with the magician spells slowing down other players, not only by removing offensive power, but also causing players to add more stall cards since they couldn't rush fast enough for their tastes. glennfoo managed to create a pure rush deck, and so I didn't have time to recover from the same troubles I'd been having. Coming off of so many wins with the deck, I misdiagnosed it as simple bad luck and rushed in with the same deck (but then again, none of my other decks stand a chance, so maybe praying for a lightning fast start was the best choice anyways).

i used this to counter a healing stall with mass CC. I nearly decked out because I didn't fatten it up in preparation for the match (I even had to use the deck image builder tool while the clock was ticking to see what was in my deck and plan my strategy). Still, almost lost is just another way of saying won.

I built this for the tournament, but really didn't like it in play-testing so I never used it.




I'm excited at the idea of seeing some of the other decks out there (you guys are going to post them, right?). Sub mentioned that he used a deck with mindgates, which I absolutely love but never use anymore because my mindgate decks are really weak. I'm also quite curious about the composition of the rainbow dragon OTK deck root used against me.
