Weekly Tournament - January 24th - Symmetricity - UnupgradedNicer than ever. Tournament Organizers: SpikeSpiegel, Submachine, Zawadx or Dm1321

Where? Please enter the Tournament room at least 15 minutes before the tournament starts. Click "Rooms" in the top left to find it.

Rules Please read the PvP Tournament rules carefully before joining the tournament. Remember to also read the Special Rules listed below!

Prizes 1st place 5,000 electrum + Nymph/Mark + Trophy (Forum Icon) 2nd place 3,000 electrum 3rd place 2,000 electrum In case of 32 or more players, tournament prizes will be increased.

Points for the World Championship 1st place 4 points 2nd place 2 points 3rd place 1 point

NOTE: You need just one presentable forum post to be allowed to join tournaments; you can post it here. If this will be your first tournament, a Tournament Organizer will test your knowledge about the rules. So please be present in tournament room 30 minutes before the tournament starts.




Special Rules

• Always read the second post! It contains equally important information most of the time.
• Upgraded cards are not allowed.
• Excluding pillars, pendulums and mark cards, your deck should have the same number of cards from front to back, when sorted by standard EtG order. So if you use 3 copies of a card, then 2, then 1; you must then use 1, 2, and 3 copies of whatever other cards you pick.
• The above is valid for any combination of numbers so long as it has symmetry. e.g. 3-1-2-2-1-3, 4-1-6-1-4, etc.
• Excluding pillars, pendulums and marks, you must use at least 4 different cards in your deck.
• You may use a maximum of 4 copies of a shard.

Q: Can you explain better how this symmetry thing works?
A: Sure. If you enter the deck code in the game, it will be sorted by a special order. If we removed all the pillars, pendulums and mark cards, then the deck must be symmetric in that order. Some examples are given below:

This deck has a 1-1-1-1-1-2-1-2-1-1-1-1-1 combination, and so is legal. It doesn't matter how many cards there are, as long as the combination is symmetric. Also, bear in mind how marks, pillars and pends don't count for the combination.

While this deck has a 3-6-3 combination, it uses only three different non-pillar cards. So it is illegal.

While the above decks look nice and have elemental symmetry, they are not symmetric by card codes. So not legal.

The combination is 6-2-5-2-6... wait a minute! If you sort by card code, Rustler comes before Luciferin. This deck is definitely not legal, since once sorted it is no longer symmetric:

Not the same no. of cards from each element, but the same no. of cards for first and last card in bazaar order. You can use the deck checker to be sure.
I tried to simplify what I thought was an interesting ruleset, so sad to hear that :c
