Grammatically speaking you're suppose to write it like this: S.R. which would stand for shard (of) readiness. English acronym's make letters for only words that are above 3 letters long. Acronyms aren't considered words, but multiple words for each letter and each missing letter.

I see that a lot of people choose mark as a reward over a nymph. It doesn't make sense to me, because as I understand it, it's almost an equivalent to a pillar except that you can't use Earthquake on it? Is there more to this?

You can't get marks from Oracle, making them strictly rarer than nymphs
