Thematically, I believe scarabs, pharaohs, precognition, chrysaora and boneyard shouldn't have been allowed, but graboid, shrieker, graviton salvager, wyrm, wings, chimera and solar shield should have been allowed. I understand some of these may have been banned due to balance concerns.
This tournament was very focused on stalls and based breakers, and SoD was a centralising card. With lycanthrope and graboid banned and such a control-heavy cardpool, there weren't any real rushes that I saw. The fastest decks that more than one person used were catatitans, pestal and guardtal (which I think were mostly played to beat stalls rather than be as fast as possible).
tldr more offensive creatures next time would be great, but I still really enjoyed this tournament.
