Rules Please read the PvP Tournament rules carefully before joining the tournament. Remember to also read the Special Rules listed below!

Special Rules

• Decks must be duo decks of the following pairs:
  
  
  These elements represent Pulverizer - Fallen Elf - Mind Flayer - Sundial - Parasite - Unstable Gas.
• Decks must have two or more of the represented cards.
• PPMs must be of the chosen duo, but deck mark can be anything.
  Exception: Quantum Pillar can be used in any deck.
• At least 4 non-PPM cards must be used of each element of the duo.
• Each duo can only be used once against the same opponent.
• Upgraded cards, nymphs, shards, Earthquake, Miracle, Dimensional Shield and Other cards (except Quantum Pillar) are banned.

If we ban all nymphs and all shards in order to make tournaments more newbie-friendly, why not to also ban Mark cards? Between the three (Shards, Nymphs and Marks) I think Marks are by far the most difficult to obtain. So, why are they always allowed in every tournament like normal PPMs?

Nymphs and shards were mainly banned for balancing purposes. In contrast with that, mark cards do not promote overpowered decks.

I don't think banning shards makes it more newbie friendly. Also, I like Marks. Not being able to play Nymphs is hard enough.

I find the banlist easier to read without nymphs and shards listed individually. The addition of Other cards makes things clear and avoids further questions, still I prefer a short statement even with one exception.

I agree with it. When EQ/Trident is banned it is not an issue, but without that they mean a lot of extra protection for vets.

EQ is banned in 99% of unupped tournaments. In upped tournaments, you would rather have upped quanta over unupped marks.
