Decks:
I was expecting rather a lot of slower decks, so I had several stalls prepared that won primarily by deckout. It turns out this was not the meta at all, and I very quickly reversed my strategy once I saw how fast cheesy could make a deck. I won all the games except one in the final after that.
Gravitic Stall (0-1)
A terrible draw combined with a decent counter by cheesy spelled certain doom for the above deck, and I never used it after the first game, as I realized it wouldn't win games.
Cold Cocks (2-0)
I built this with water pends so that the octopus would hopefully come out turn 1 and be ready and waiting to freeze any otyughs. I used this deck once against cheesy who was using a dune scorpion deck, and once against calindu, who used a life/air rush. The game with calin was incredibly close; I made the decision to keep squids in hand due to low # of pends that would've had a hard time paying for the activations, and just pump the spectres after he kept shockwaving the squids, and I ended up winning with 1hp left.
Multiple Cocks (1-0)
I only used this deck once, against majofa, who used a life/death rush. It was illegal (he used deadly poison) but we played it out and I won anyway without too much trouble, since he had no PC/CC.
Cockblocked (1-1)
I used this in games 1 and 2 of the finals. Game 1 I beat glenn's fire/aether/gravity trio using ruby dragons, quints, and otys, and in game 2 I lost to another 60 card damageless stall; he won the coin toss, and I conceded when he told me he had no damage sources.
And the champion...
Otyugh Dune Scorps (4-0)
This deck beat glenn's ruby dragon/wings/oty deck in the finals game 3. It beat majofa's life/fire deck with cockatrice and adrenascorpions. (and apparently banned fire lances, but he didn't get any :p) It beat calin's PSNbow, and I think the other win was against an illegal deck cheesy used with eternity.
As has been my habit, my mark reward comes from the most successful deck I used in that tourney. Since it was otyugh dune scorps this time, that means gravity or time. I figured a time mark was more useful, so that's what I got.
