No shields.

just a suggestion for future tournament threads (not the tourney itself hence why i didnt put it in the tournet feedback)
how about locking one of the two topics before the start of the tournament so that any discussion prior can be focus on just one thread?
i suggest locking western since eastern will start earlier (but it really doesnt make a difference actually)

its way easier this way imo

Not viable. Some people post in the appropriate thread because they're going to be in it. If they see it locked, they're gonna freak and think it's called off. I'd be getting PM's with all the questions they meant to ask here.

why not put a disclaimer in bright red neon saying its closed until tournament started, proceed to ask/discuss in the other thread ?

i know the community is a bit lacking when it comes to comprehending simple rules and stuff but this shouldnt be too hard on the brain (or maybe it is)

its a more efficient way of handling any inquiries/discussion pertaining to the tournaments and you call it unnecessary?
how many times you see people keep repeating the same question about something in different threads (of similar nature) and someone answered "look (answered) in the other thread" ?

i guess making things more efficient is 'unnecessary'
let me know when they have spot open for TOs
i totally missed the last announcement but i'm going to make sure to get this thing running as efficient as possible for everyone involved

Haha. That's a pretty funny over-reaction. It's unnecessary because they're not going to look in the other thread, just like they're not doing it now. In fact, we get just as many cases of the most simple rules possible getting questioned in the same thread, when the answer is both in the very simply formulated rules -and- in the replies in the thread. A lot of people don't read anything but the last page. Efficiency is nice, but your suggestion wouldn't result in it. That's where we split, not at some opinion about efficiency. Obviously. Assuming otherwise seems very irrational to me, unless you're trying to provoke something with strawmen here.
