Are Other cards (non-shards) allowed?
QP is now banned. Other cards are not part of any element, and as such don't count toward the elemental requirements. Pillars and pends of an element are part of that element, as are Mark cards. Ability costs do not affect a card's native element.
Other cards are technically allowed up to 20% of your deck assuming you have 4 elements of at least 20%.

Looking forward to this tourney.

All decks must be made from 4 elements and all 4 elements must have between 20-40% of the cards in the deck.
But isn't this restriction redundant?  If I have a 4 element deck and all must be at least 20% of the deck, none can go over 40%...  If any element went over 40% at least one of the others would be under 20%.    ;)

Yikes, that'll be tough without any QP's. Or at least folks'll have to get a little more creative with quanta generation. I like! :)

No pretty table yet?

good try,but the table was wrong.thats because of the min20% rule wrecks havoc with it.

heres the corrected one where 'x' denotes the num. of cards in your deck.

Deck SizeMaximum number of cards from 1  element, considering all else have min
3012
31-3510+(x-31)
36-4012+(x-36)
41-4514+(x-41)
46-5016+(x-46
51-5518+(x-51)
56-5920+(x-56)
6024
the correct equation is max card= X - 3 * roundup(X/5)

I'd like to point out that the more complex the rules when dealing with forcing certain # of cards or % from an element, there is no way to know who has the correct amount in their decks.  These tourneys should be avoided as people do cheat when rules like this tourney has is used.  And there are those that will have incorrect amounts just because they can't count and do simple math or are too young to fully understand.

@bucky: Cheating is not any easier in a percentage tourney, and we haven't had any more trouble than with the simplest of rules. That's why we run on an honour system and spectate games. In fact, common game expressions are usually more troublesome for newbies. If we suddenly start having big problems with it, we'll certainly use a better system. Until then, there's no basis for complaint.

However, I usually stay away from percentages and use fractions instead. Tends to be less confusing.

Oh, and we won't allow Shards yet since they're hard to get. Eventually though, we'll have a tourney for the recently released cards, in which Shards will be allowed. There's a second reason for that tourney concept, and that's introducing Shards into organized PvP to see how they will fit in the metagame regarding balance.

Also, thanks for the tables, Vineroz and makapse :>

It's been almost 2 months since the shards release.  Not only are they amazingly easy to get compared to before the arena, there are already a lot of people with full sets (upped and unupped).

Now to have a tourney based on rare cards I thought was not allowed or was frowned upon.  So that rules that idea out.

And the only way to learn about how shards affect organized pvp meta is to use them in organized pvp events?  And without being able to have a tourney based around shards because they are rare, I don't see this ever happening any time soon unless someone hosts an event without this stupid restriction.

Seriously, shards are easy to get, can't have tourneys based on rares, and we need to learn about the meta involving them in organized pvp.

Solution, STOP BANNING THEM.

How is it that I am the only one that realizes something so very simple.

They're not easy to get at all, mathematically speaking. For instance, I've farmed since they were released, and I have lots of a couple types and few of others. That's RNG for you, and I grind a lot compared to some competitive players mind you.

I'm not sure what to reply to the rest of your confused rant, since I just said we'll have tourneys where they are allowed. If you can't read, you're just wasting everyone's time, and any further pointless repetition will be considered spam.

De-railing topic!

I have one new shard.  One.  I would say I am semi-competitive and grind often, but not like mad.

I don't mind playing against them, but when every arena bonus roll either trolls me (3 rolls with a 25% chance fails more often then you would think) or I automatically get a Titan (stupid gravity affecting my rolls!)... yea.

Edit:  Math statistics!

55% chance for a new shard to be in the bonus spinner. (22 rare cards, 4 slots in spinner, 4 new shards)
70% chance to spin the card you want (3 spins, 1/4 odds)
3 spins, add a dash of RNG for getting a rare weapon before you can do anything... and....

~ 15% chance per bonus spin to get a new shard.  ~ 5% chance to get a specific shard per spin.

Yea... good luck!
