I was considering PoisonDials vs Aether to get around shields... but I'm no strategist...

I was trying to tweak Ghostal to perform better against the last 2 decks above, and came up with this one:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5ro 5ro 5rs 5rs 5ru 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 61t 61t 61t 61t 622 622 7q5 7q5 8pu

The pharao helps to spam cheap scarabs to take down the bonewall before the main damage is fractalled. I will continue to tweak and test, but so far I got 78% win against the mono-death deck (#4) and 40% against darkness dominion(#3), but only 32% against pandebonium which is overall better than anything else I tried so far. Any suggestions for improvement would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: improved version, dropped dragon and 1 eternity for 2 paharos.

pandebonium:

I have another version that can beat pandebonium 50% chance in simulator, probably better when played by human:

need some creative playing possibly rewinding some scarabs to avoid decking out (happened in trainer testing)

Summary:
- lots of DBH, but most of it came in War #3 and also with miserable result for DBH
- CC is rather strange, either they pack the grav pull and non-momentum creatures or use duo (lightnings most likely), a bit of a coin toss cause duo is totally viable
- RT is prob. the hardest counter they will fear (fire eater being the only cheap creature grav has)
- purple nymph is a little risky, it will insta die to CC and disco will reduce its effectiveness a lot (if not shut it down completely), I'd say not worth the risk

Current test results:
- ghostmare w/ steals and RT /10 men's version - often hard to play the 4 :darkness steal, but seems to win more than lose vs. DBH (simulator says 80+% wins but I'd take it with a grain of salt), very strong vs. non disco decks...
- deflag ghost combo - 50/50 (65% ish in simulation) vs. DBH, better vs. dims but not terribly fast aka issues with straight up rushes
- posion dials didn't work vs. DBH, it's gonna be hard to chain dials vs. smart opponent without stable  :time income
- mono - surprisingly good vs. DBH, gets torn apart by lighting and shield stalls, sadly

Overall it seems a little like rock paper scissors game... There is no universal deck, there is only mindgating to do...

IMHO we can suspect something unorthodox (Nilsie) and  they will try to battle the RT somehow, either by quantum denial, cheap creatures or RT protection for ex. quinted chargers or skellies/mummies.

Universal answer to all of that is the ghostmare. My version - more darkeness quantum generation so bh every 2 turns doesn't shut me down, also less RT power. Easier to pull off the combo, and it's a straight road after ge can't draw anymore. Acceptable win rate vs. DBH as well.

Due to only 4 nightmares (duh :P) in the vault we can only use 1 ghostmare per round, right? If you're reluctant to give me the nightmares I'd probably try to go for some kind of a  :light :time combo with sancts, for example:

A bit overquantumed to battle BH. 2 upped sancs for the surprise factor and speed. Disco actually allows it to use devour for even more awesomeness.

Any thoughts?

PS. Sorry for spam ;/

PS2. Could we have a team meeting tonight or tomorrow before deadline to decide on who plays what? Also it seems I have to add the decks to the vault google doc before the deadline. I'd appreciate some info on where and how to do it ;)

My take on deck ideas:

Gravity:
Sanc Stall (counters DBH, should work well against other gravy decks)

Death:
Disco Time (should beat pandebonium, and discord is a great card)

Life:
Ghostal (little control whatsoever, get around healing)

Water:
Grabbow (the extra ups is nice, universal answer to most water decks)

Air:
Exploding Times (air used a lot of nasty permanents last war)

Aether:
Poisondials? Here I am unsure.
War #3 - Life || War #4 - Death || War #5, #6, #7, #9, #13, #14 - Time || War #8, #12 - Air

The problem with Disco-Time against any of the probable death decks (pandebonium, darkness dominion or mono-death) is that it could take a long time to take down their bonewall and only the purple nymph can provide healing to survive that long. I do not have purple nymphs and without those, Disco-Time only has ~50% chance against pandebonium and 35% and 16% against the other two respectively.

So we either have to switch and send somebody else against death who does have the nymphs, or I need to use a different deck. So far my testing shows the best chance using the modified ghostal with pharaos, but it is still very weak against pandebonium.

EDIT: I just tested in simulator & trainer and even with the nymphs, Disco-Time only gets 45%-50% wins against pandebonium. The nymphs are very vulnerable, so pandemonium can easily kill them or worse, copy them over and they have the  :entropy quanta to use them!

EDIT2: based on simulations and trainer testing, the following version (which I can build) works slightly better than the nymph version of Disco-Time against pandebonium, but it is still only around 52-55% winning chance. And it is weaker against the mono-death!

If you have any further requests post them here, I'll be only tomorrow an hour before the deadline ends to make possible last-minute changes. Otherwise I'd like to thank you all for your input, let's hope the best for this round. :)

You went 6.16 qi with this mono, compared to my 4.95. Might matter vs. turn 2 disco in a long run. Also, I used 3 dragons to beat the wings decks as well.

Tested it vs. DBH, still works just as well.

I've decided to instead add you a Quicksand for a Nightmare, that card has historically been pretty sweet with Discord.
