I'd rather have it costing 6/6 and having at least 6 health, with either a reduction in attack or in damage caused, so that time can have a medium-cost medium-attack creature that doesn't die to lightning.

this card shoud deal 15hp when discarded and the uped shoud deal 20 damage
this card like it is by now is to weak we do stil need to use a nightmare so i guess we soud buff it

lets see... if we compare it to other cards...

UG is 5 :air and does 20 damage for 1 :fire It also does 1 dmg to all creatures on the field.

GotP is 13 dmg for 7 :time, and requires a 2 card combo to be effective for its effect (currently requiring 1 :darkness for nightmare). That combo locks the opponents hand for 1 turn however. It also isnt a guarantee that they will discard it. if they had another card that they recently gained the quanta for, then your combo went to waste. Now we cant forget the niche it fills of a midrange attacker for time, 7 :time for a 9/4 creature isnt bad in and of itself. Although, charger is 5 :gravity, is 7/5 and has momentum (arguably better than this effect, and can easily make up for the 2 dmg difference)

All in all, im not really sure what I think this card needs. It just seems like it needs something...

This brings a good question though to cards. Should they be made for the current enviroment, or made for what COULD be added? I think they should be made for the current environment, and then changed accordingly as new cards are added. I think haveing a risen discard damage would be better, as the effect could easiily be lowered with the introduction of new discard mechanics

But it's being added more as an attacker, and I'd really not like a card to be immediately nerfed when another card comes out. Keep it as is. The combo has control issues as is, what it needs is consistent discards, not higher damage. I like it as is.

When this card was first introduced,  believed that. It was more of a psuedonilla card.. Then Zanz rose the dmg drastically. I think it was quite clear after that, that he wanted the card to be used more for its effect, and the atk was more of a bonus, not the other way around.

Of course, thats just an assumption though.

however, talking development based on future or current game environment is off topic. I think imma start a topic just for that lol
