now that I think about it... since ppl seem to hate the fact that this creature is like a dragon in its function, why not upgrade its ability
when it's discarded, the owner takes X*3 damage, X being the number of Ghosts of the Past in your hand

The problem isn't the amount of damage dealt, but rather the circumstances under which this card needs to be in order to deal significant damage to your opponent. As there is currently no way to force your opponent to discard, Ghost's skill is useless. However, as we see new cards introduced, maybe a discard effect could make its way into the game, unlocking Ghost's potential.

As I and most everyone else has stated, Ghost is best served as an attacker.

Eh, you can force the opponent to discard by using Silence with a full hand, but such a tactic would require a trio or greater which hurts the consistency considerably so that may as well be true :s  I devised a deck to utilize Ghost's ability, but without such a strict build it's undoubtedly almost solely useful as a midrange attacker.  Quite the addition regardless.

I wasn't talking about passive discard options. I'm talking about direct, "opponent discards a card" type stuff (think back to original Dune Scorpion). Elements has nothing of the sort at this time.

Yeah it's possible.  I seem to remember a statement somewhere saying that discards directly from the hand were unfavorable...or something to that degree, or maybe my memory is messing with me yet again.  My logic was that if zanz nerfed Dune Scorp to get rid of the discard effect completely then it was because there was an issue with discard effects in general.  But who knows what the future holds.

Pretty much this.  ^

As I've said in chat quite a few times now:  The old Dune Scorpion, or a similar effect, should come back to the game.  Especially with Sanctuary coming out, random discard isn't really as devastating as people think, and the combo of the random discard + GotP, as some people have already said, makes it quite awesome to play with.

While your suggestion of getting the old Dune Scorpion back and turning Deathstalker into the current Dune works, it's not really needed. I'm sure we'll get more options for discard later, but right now there's no way to deal with discards since we have no graveyard. I'm sure we'll see solutions for that in the future. Anyway, this is a bit off-topic.

Just getting a new card that has the same effect would be fine, and even better actually. I like how the scorpions are set up now, no point in changing some. And a discard pile isnt needed. You lose the card, just like everything else in the game. Not really off topic cause we are discussing how this card GotP could be of better use ;)

No, we were discussing the change of Scorpions, as we've done in the chat a fair deal in the past. You, on the other hand, are primarily discussing new mechanics. The problem with discard is that it's basically insta-kill in this game, with the only difference being you don't know what you kill. You don't think it's a problem, but that is a different discussion, no matter what you may want to steer it to.
