haboLax vs Broken Drums

Onizuka 1 - 3 Jen-i

Game #1    Anti-Pestal vs Pestal
Spoiler for LOSS:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
52o 52o 52o 52o 52o 52o 52p 52q 52q 52q 52q 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5li 5li 5li 5lm 5lm 5lm 5lm 5lm 5mq 5mq 8pk

Predicted I'd face Pestal - brought a deck loaded with Permanents to overload any Steals. Things started well - I dropped some early poison and an Arsenic, got a sanc in play and locked out his stupid quanta growth. He eventually stole the Sanc, and I didn't find my second until 13 cards left in the deck, he'd accumulated too much quanta for his fractals at that point, my miracles couldn't save me.

After the match I looked up the rules again - looks I didn't need the 11th Death card, oops

Game #2     PoisonBolt vs PU Dragons
Spoiler for WIN:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
52o 52o 52o 52o 52o 52o 542 542 542 542 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f7 5f7 5f7 5f7 8po

I had no idea what I'd face this time, so I loaded up something fast that countered his strong shields and largely ignored his Steals and hoped I didn't face Pestal again. It looked like he had a fairly poor draw he dropped a dragon and 2 TU's on turn 6 to get some damage down, but I netted a turn 7 win so it didn't matter.

Game #3     Immo Rush vs PU Dragons w/ Silence
Spoiler for WIN:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
52o 52o 52o 52o 52o 52q 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f9 5f9 5f9 5f9 5f9 5f9 5fa 5fa 5fc 5fc 5fc 5fc 5fc 5l9 5l9 5l9 5l9 5l9 5l9 5lf 8po
I'd seen no control from Oni yet so I figured I'd be okay with a gamble on a rush deck. I got a poor draw , no creatures in the first 10 cards (well 3 Photons, but they don't count) I eventually got a Blessed Phoenix and a Lava Golem in play, they out rushed the oncoming dragons to net me the win.

Game #4     FireStall vs PU Dragons
Spoiler for WIN:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f6 5f6 5f6 5f6 5f7 5f7 5f7 5f8 5f8 5f8 5f8 5f8 5lm 5lm 5lm 5lm 5lm 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 8po
I figured he'd likely run PU Dragons again, and my FireStall loaded with storms seemed like a solid counter, the Sancs provided me a little extra flexibility in the hopes to counter Pestal as well. I dropped only 2 Fire pillars the first turn - and went pretty much the whole game without seeing any light cards. Fahrenheit did its work and 3 bolts ended the game. He amassed a great pool of quanta this game but never made use of it. I think he'd only played quanta by the end of the game.) I a field of dragons probably would not have mattered, I had 3 Firestorms in hand, but they would certainly have made things more interesting.

Thanks for the games Oni - sorry that the RNG hated you just a little more than she hated me this time

G1: Win
Thought I would see fire/death stall first game. found a light/death stall. got my only steal on the first sanc of jen-i, jen didn't manage to draw another till half the deck, by then i had fractaled twice and had fractal vamps. My luck: all used.

Thought I'd either see another stall with light or a fire/death stall. Got a fire/death deck, but no dragon or till half the game and no silence to stop bolts.

G3: Straight PUgons, ahoy. Immo deck with a bad start, should be an easy win, right? Not if you don't draw your dragon till most of the game is gone, and you draw 10/15 quanta cards without getting them so you are stuck with 9 darkness quanta for many turns.
G4: Since I had somewhat stallbroken every single game and basically losing all 3, i wouldn't be expected to do it a 4th time. Jen draws: no light quanta for a long time, but an early fahren. Perfect for Silence PUgons, right? Silence and easy kill. Nope, no dragon in 15 cards. Had a silence and if I had drawn a dragon instead of 11 quanta, I would have won.

You're just as selfish as I am. You're just not as good at it yet.

Dragoon (Broken Drums) 3 - 1 hainkarga (habolax)

Game 1 - Win
Spoiler for Hidden:

Wasn't sure what he'd play and this deck does reasonably well against most of his decks, except decks with 6 Lightnings. We desynched the first game while I was in the lead. The second game he got an awful 1-pillar draw. I didn't get any Golems in my opening hand, but I still was able to win without too much difficulty due to his terrible draw.

Game 2 - Lose

I was hoping that I scared him away from Devtal, and I did. He played a Fractal Vamp deck with a boatload of Steals. Great call on his part. He read my mind and crushed my Dim Stall.

Game 3 - Win
Spoiler for Hidden:

I decided to play something that could out-damage his Vamps and hopefully overpower any stall of his. Instead, I faced the dreaded, vile Devtal. But I got lucky and got a nice heavy Pillar/Pend draw. I drop a Dragon and PU. He lightnings one of them and Fractals Devs. Fortunately with my heavy pillar draw, I'm still collecting quanta. I PU again. He Fractals Vamps. I get another Dragon on the field and slowly get him down to something less than 5HP. He top-decks a Fractal and lays down more Vamps and is now healing for ~30 points. I barely squeak a victory in. If he had drawn lightnings earlier, this would be a different story.

Game 4 - Win
Spoiler for Hidden:

I had an okay start with a kind of meh quanta-draw and several TUs but no Dragon. I quickly use my Silence before he shuts me out with Sancts. By the time I play a Dragon and PU, his Stiletto has claimed something close to a third of my life. Then he starts chaining Nightmares and plays a Light Dragon. Fortunately, I had enough PUs in hand that I was able to use those and eke out a victory with only 2HP left.

Great games hainkarga. You had me sweating, literally. Now I need to go take a shower.

Because I'm a dunderhead I forgot about wings and brought this deck, he defeated me with 3 hp (and I didn't draw the lonely FW which would've won the game..)

Round 2: WIN 1-1

Last game he had a stall with wings and good cc and I didn't give him a chance to put out much damage because of denial, so decided to swap my non airborne creatures to unstable gasses for damage, after a lot of stalling (Fog+discord hax on my side, denying my quanta with lobo on dragonflies on his side) I managed to defeat him with 1 unstable gas, discord and a shockwave.

Expected stall, so went with pulvy + EQ which worked perfectly.

Found my last deck low on gravity and expected another stall so went with pendulums and locked him down pretty much.

I had a great time playing against you majofa, thanks for the great games. (And sorry for my random drunk pms)

Too many perfect draws on his side, plus my bad draws meant I couldn't do much.... he always drew exactly one Fog Shield and had it down quick and never drew duplicates of anything he didn't need....

Game 1 (WIN)
His first turn, double Nova, double Entropy Pendulum set the stage for his power drawing...
Easy win was almost a loss with Fog Shield hax on his side and me drawing one Wings for the majority of the game.... couldn't even kill him when he had 3 hp left.

Game 2 (LOSS)
9 cards left one Wings, no Dragon...... seriously him killing me with UGs with one Wind Pillar is sad....

Game 3 (LOSS)
I could have won if his draw wasn't perfect.

Game 4 (LOSS)
Wings were always just in case, but one pillar is pretty much death.... it took him 10 cards to get perfection on his draw again....
