kev 3 - Cheesy 0

Game 1 Cheesy illegal decked, but he caught it quickly and I know my team would not have wanted me to take the forfeit Cheesy offered.  Game 1(a) all I found is quanta for the first half of my deck, but it took forever for Cheesums to get to 10 aether thanks to a terribad quanta draw.  He got eaten up by my FH.  The last two turns saw some action.

Game 2 he played dragons and lightning bolts.  He had to double lightning my nymph and I had to double lightning his dragons.  He played it perfectly but bonewall OP against dragons.
Spoiler for G3:

I didn't get any fire quanta at all and finished holding two ragepots but an abundance of death quanta got me a rushy win.

Good games, Cheesy.  Best of luck to you and your team in the rest of the event.

Laxadarap 3-1 Majofa
Spoiler for Game 1 - Win - Firestall vs. Nymphs:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f7 5f7 5f7 61q 61q 61q 61q 61q 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 8po

Fire mark=gas, got 3 dims opening hand and figured it wouldn't help.  Majo ends up playing a firefly so I dim with an early faren getting haxxed by his fog shield.  He plays 2 nymphs, blessing 1 twice, I lightning one, and use my sole firebolt on the other.  Stall with dims, (I end up drawing 5 of them).  Lightning his 3rd nymph, and just let faren take him down.  Only drew the 1 bolt.

Spoiler for Game 2 - Loss - Stallbreaking pugons vs. Psiontal air duo:

Deck import code : [Select]
5f2 5f2 5f6 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61r 61r 61r 61r 61r 61r 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 622 8pu

Saw damsel with aether mark, expected fractal damsels, so I held off with dims.  Then he played psion, and psiontal counters this deck.  Ended up with dragon in opening hand, but hadn't drawn a single PU by the time I died (15 cards left) had no hope of even attempting to rush him.

Spoiler for Game 3 - Win - Silent Pugons vs. UG deck:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5f2 5f2 5f2 5f2 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 5gi 61r 61r 61r 61r 61r 61r 624 624 624 624 624 624 8pu

Fire version of hainks deck, but with the added awesomeness of being a bit faster, and silence being more useful.  I expected nymphs, but I figured he would be expecting lightning's or rage pots, so he would hold off to play a nymph until he could double up with them.  He was put at 15 air quanta, and I thought "hell yes".  Silenced next turn, and got out 3 dragons.  Fog shield blocked one of them.  Silenced again next turn and played a 4th dragon with my fire quanta.  All 4 hit through his shield.  Went another turn without silence, 2/2 hit through, and he played a nymph and 3 UG.  However, he only had 4 hp, and my first dragon hit him.

Spoiler for Game 4 - Win - Nymphs vs. Psions?:

I was hoping to have baited him into sancs, or something that would destroy my previous deck.  Saw an air mark, and a bunch of psions.  Got out a 2nd turn nymph to hopefully deter CC, and it survived.  Gased 3 times, immo'd a dragonfly early so he wouldn't silence block me from doing it, and when he didn't silence I topdecked another nymph for a perfect hp KO.  He played OE last turn, but I had 2 deflags in hand, including one I started with.

Laxadarap 3 - 1 majofa

Game 1 (vs DimBolt)  LOSS
Figure he'd expect Psions or UGs, so I went with a semi-rush with Blue Nymphs. 2nd turn Fahrenheit and all his Dims meant I had no chance.

Game 2 (vs Pillars and Pendulums)  WIN
I have no idea what his deck was, he didn't have enough :fire for it to be a DimBolt, maybe it was the same deck he played in game 3 and he never drew any dragons?

He uses Nova and Fog, and drop Eternity next turn. Deflag it, but still needs damage. Lone Doll on the field. He dropped a Golden before i drop my Red. Drop another Doll, ragepot. He killed my Red and put in a Golden, i put in another Red. Drop a Black. He drop a Golden. I win. 1-0

Holy heck, how many super rares does he have there? Mark of Time, Golden Nymph... Anyway, another Fog dropped, Deflagged. Another Golden dropped. I have two Dolls already. Yet another Fog, without deflag. Urgh. And Eternity hit the field. And another Golden. And another. gg. 1-1

Don't double use the deck. It's the time for Cloak, courtesy of Ruta. Aaand bad draw! He dropped an Abom, me only one Dev. And a Discord. And RT. Again. Cloak come, too late. gg. 1-2

Okay, enough screwing around. This is my ace. And he's got a baad, bad hand. Ghost out, shockwaved. Out again. Steal a Fog. This is a straight way to victory! I hope. Ghost shocked again, no damage on table. Painfully slow game, i started to fear deckout. Late game started to pickup pace. And win. 2-2

Ruta made a similar deck, but deckout. Well, deckout is too long IMO, so i made a denial from it. I'm not too sure of this to be honest, but eh. Against Time/Air. I keep rewinding his Golden while putting Devourers and Dragons. I smell victory. And he ragequits! gg 3-2

Off to a great start. Discord feasted on his quanta, while I managed to get a couple silence and a dragon in hand. I also got an abom at some point. I think I chained 4 silences.

I expected him to use the Firestall with more Light Quanta to up a Sanctuary earlier. This was my practical answer. A Miracle had me sweat. I forgot to take out silences, and this makes me feel uncomfortable.

If it's broken, fix it. I was ready to take on everything he could throw at me. Except BE-Angels, but no one uses them anyway.
I may have made a misplay, but it didn't matter.

Ggs, ddemesne, and thanks for staying up so long.

dragonsdemesne (211) - 2 vs raving rabbid (bunny's fir) - 3

game 1: loss

Going in, we figured firestall had a pretty good shot against anything they could do.  Unfortunately, turn 2 discord kept me under 4 light quanta the entire time, and 4 consecutive silences locked me out at the end; the only card i played all game was a fahrenheit.  I was rather disappointed with this first game; had I gotten a sanc out at any point before the silence chain, I'd have won for sure.

game 2: loss

I wasn't sure if he'd try that same deck again, but I loaded up on more light quanta to try and make sure I could get that sanc down.  I didn't really do too much better; he had more dragons/pus than I had bolts.

game 3: win

At this point I'm getting pretty worried.  I figure discord should work fairly well against either of the two decks he has used so far.  I'm also worried about his discord and silences.  He hasn't yet played phase dragons, and in planning I figured that phase dragon/light stall was his best deck against us.  I'm a little surprised he hasn't done this yet, but I take a chance he won't use immortal creatures and play using nymphs.  I don't get a discord all game, but I do get lots of sancs and a nymph, and he concedes; I'm assuming he had no CC or something.  I don't know exactly what he was playing, but all I saw were abominations.

game 4: win

I don't usually play immorush, so I specifically built this one to be unpredictable.  I didn't modify it at all from what we had in team chat.  I had a decent start, the only bad thing being that I had 1 more immo than photons, but I managed alright in spite of that.  The first seraph got lightninged, but the second one stuck.  I got a turn 3 discord, but it didn't seem to do much, since he had a lot of quanta.  Raving played a dim, which I deflagged, and he apparently didn't have another shield, which was good, since I didn't have another deflag :p

game 5: loss

I built this in team chat mostly as a joke, with a headline that said something like "they'll NEVER expect this!"  Well, I had to use it, just to see.  I would have won, but raving won the coin toss, so he had 10hp when he killed me.  If I'd gone first, he'd have lost by 1 turn instead of me.

Great games raving, although interestingly you used none of the decks I thought you would, which is probably how you came out on top :p  I particularly liked the deck you used in game 1.  (and 3, if that was the same one)

Taker started the game with an early Hematite and I was forced to chose between wasting 2 Lightnings, or take a slight beating while doing nothing. I chose the boring version, which proved to be a good move. After my first twin Dragons, 2 Lava Golems popped up, which got bolted instantly.
After some beating, taker rained a lot of fire, killing my two dragons. But as my tutor Bunny always instructed me in its infinite wisdom, I kept another pair in hand, which soon finished the job.

He started with a lot of pillars and a frog soon after. Had I chosen Devtal, it would've been my doom. But RNG was on my side today.
I left the frogs do what they want, but whenever they started attacking 4 times a round, they got a heart attack. They just can't handle the adrenaline.
My twin Dragons came quite early and since they weren't bothered, they multiplied and gave me the 2nd victory.

Good games taker, I hope we can finish this before the deadline.

He played a fireshield before I was able to play my scorps. So each sorp played only added 2 poison before dying.
My PU Dragon got half way Basilisked, so my damage was slowed down considerably. His Phoenixes sucked on my Lightnings, and when they came swarming I got really worried. Luckily thanks to the Poison I always stayed slightly ahead in the health and it was just enough for the win with a Lightning after his final BB.

Thanks for the matches taker.

Every group still has one match to play, start subbing if you need to.

The round has been extended a day to enable this.
