Well I can't do that until we know which team you'll be playing against.
I was blaming them too.

Honestly, I'm just happy we aren't in the preliminaries.  Plus, this works wonders for my schedule, so let's not be afraid to wait a bit for our matches.   :)

EDIT:  Of course as I made this post, Team Cresomethingorother advances.

Wizardcat (2) - Terroking (0)

And that means we advance.

Match 1:
Code: [Select]
5f5 5f6 5f6 5fb 5fb 5fb 5fb 5fb 5fb 5fk 5up 5up 5up 5ur 5v0 5v0 5v0 5v0 5v0 5v0 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 606
That's six Voodoo Dolls and ten Dark Pendulums.

Terro forgot to change his mark, so I let him change it. He used a Scarab-Fractal deck, which had the misfortune of meeting an early Fire Shield + Stiletto. My teammates were convinced that he was going to use a Time/Aether stall with Hourglasses and Dimensional Shields, so Deflags and Steals were added to my Voodoo deck. Turns out I had nothing to use them on except for pillars. He got very few aether pillars, and whaever ones he drew got immediately deflagged, so he never actually got to fractal a scarab. Sorry, Terro.

Match 2:
Code: [Select]
5f5 5f6 5f6 5fb 5fb 5fb 5fb 5fb 5fb 5fk 5up 5up 5up 5ur 5v0 5v0 5v0 5v0 5v0 5v0 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 606
Surprise! Same deck. Except it wasn't really a surprise, and I think he had expected it. It was an Air/Aether duo with Wyrms and Parallel Universes. And a Turquoise Nymph. I got a trio of enraged dolls quickly off and rushed him before he drew anything that could help. He probably would've done better if he hadn't switched decks, as I got lucky with the Shield + Stiletto, I think.
The dogs of war are nothing compared to the cats.

Wizardcat 2 vs. Terroking 0

Sorry team, man can't win without his cards :/

For the first game, since he was running the possibility and near certainty of at least Darkness or Fire, perm control would be mandatory. Because of this, I decided not to run anything for them to target.

Code: [Select]
5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rk 5rk 5rk 5rq 5rq 5rq 5rq 5rq 5rq 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 622 622 622 622 622 63a 63a
? ? ? = 2 Aether pends

In reality, this was a very solid counter to most of his options, having no valuable targets for Deflags/Steals, and still being able to get rid of pretty much anything he could get out there. I knew the most likely oppositions would be an Immolation+Devs/Dejas or Rage+Voodoo, and RT stops the second in it's tracks and nicely slows down the first, making a few copies a viable choice.

And while his early Fire Shield and Vampire Dagger were hindrances, what really killed me was my inability to draw any Aether Pillars. None on the draw, and while I did manage to get a Pend around card 11 or so, it wasn't joined by a Pillar until very late, which promptly got Deflagged.

Although my RTs stopped the Dolls in their tracks, most of the game was just his Dagger beating me down while I hoped to draw some Aether Pillars. They never came, and I lost, although I'm very confident that I would have won that match with them available.

Second time, I decided to go with the no-perms route again, this time aiming for an extremely high-damage output. Naturally, I chose Wyrm+PU to achieve this. (I very nearly went for Flying Eternities, but decided not to in the end)

Code: [Select]
5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oe 5oe 5oe 5oe 5oe 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61r 61r 61r 61r 61r 61r 62c
But of course, when you are doomed to getting no Pillars the first game, (Or at least any useful ones) the Law of Unfairness states that your next game will have you draw an overabundance of them. This because true, making my first 9 cards Pillars. It got slightly better after that, drawing my Turquoise Nymph and a Wyrm, and then proceeding to Quint Wizard's Dolls to prevent further Rage, but I kept getting pillars after that and the game ended with his 3 immortal 5/11s wiping out the last of my hp and me drawing a PU.

Anyways Wizard, gg.
I ask nothing of humanity but fairness in all things, but I do not expect even that.

jmdt (2) - mrpaper (1)

:aether/ :darkness was a tought draw for  :life/ :air.  I was worried how it would turn out, but in the end, the power of  :life prevailed.

Round 1

Code: [Select]
5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5c5 5c5 5c5 5c5 5c5 5c7 5c7 5c7 5c7 5c7 5de 5de 5de 5de 5og 5oi 5oi 5oi 5oi 5oi 5ol 5on 5on 5on 5on
Played an adrenaline staff deck with some contol in the first match.  Mr paper used a similar :aether/ :darkness in all 3 matches.  I contained dim shields, mindgate, TU, fractal, phase dragon, vamp stilleto, devs and featured black nymph.  The first game started out great.  I had 2 adrenaline staves out and a 3rd non adrenaline'd staff with a fog for defense and I whittled him down to 33 hp and all he had out was a phase dragon, stilleto, mind gate and a devourer.  I thought I had it in the bag, then in the matter of one turn, he played a black nymph, dim shield and stole the owls eye I had just played.  The black nymph ls'd my staves, and he continued to TU the nymph, fractal it, and use adrenaline on 2 of the nymph from mind gate.  I killed one of the adrenanymphs with shockwaves, but without the healing my fog couldn't halt his damage.  If I hadn't lost the owls eye I may have been able too pul it out, but I doubt it.  Mr paper played the match flawlessly.

Round 2 and 3

Code: [Select]
5bt 5bt 5bt 5bt 5bt 5bv 5bv 5bv 5bv 5c4 5c6 5c6 5c6 5c6 5c6 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oj 5oj 5oj 5oj 5oj 5oj 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu
I figured he'd play the same deck since he won so convincing round 1 and I was correct.  I went to the arsenal of 5 decks I'd built and decided to go with the ffq deck.  I couldn't afford to be raped by mindgate again with aderenanymphs or worse.  The draw went very well for me this round.  I had a good start and he has a low pillar start which delayed his takeoff a bit.  I got 2 early ffq and was able to stockpile fireflies on the field.  I got him to ~ 60 hp before he put up a phase shield.  My first rustler got lightninged, and my second ls'd by the newly played black nymph.  Luckily  when I played the third rustler, he had 2 dark quanta and could not ls it.  The following turn, I unleashed several dragons and several bonds.  He started lsing my ffq's but I was still able to fiill the field with 4 emerald dragon, ~4-5 ffq and the rest fireflies.  He TU's a emerald dragon, but the bonds healed me back each turn.  The turn after I filled the field with fireflies his dim shield chain broke and I was able to get in a 1 shot kill for the last ~60 hp.

Round 3 I used the same deck.  I though about switching, but since the deck worked so well, I decided to keep it and try my luck for round 3.  He had a very similar deck, but I believe he tweaked it for round 3, probably to add more dim shields.  Round 3 didn't go nearly as well for me.  I had 2 ffq and 3 fireflies out before the black nymph came to play and he started chaining phase shields.  I was able to get out 4 fireflies total the whole game.  I got 2 early bonds and the emerald shield out thans to a rustler that were able to kee me alive.  I held one ffq in hand waiting for a second to milk another firefly out for my bonds, but he TU's his black nymph cutting my options.  I started dropping critters as I drew them to keep the healing chain up.  I realized my only way to victory was by deckout.  Thanks to the high hp of ffq I was able to keep a number of critters out and keep my hp high enough.  At the end, he had killed all of my critters except for 4 enemald dragons with his nymphs.  Wehn the game ended with his deckout he still had dim shields chained so there was no way I could have damaged him.  Props to mrpaper on this epic third game.  We fought down to the wire and were were not sure who would pull it out until the very end.

I will say, I have a new respect for the black nymph after these games.  it singlehanded beat me one game and almost had me in a second one.  Lobo + poison is very powerful.

Thanks for the good, well fought battles mr paper.

Go team Diamanti!

First battle: I played Deck 1 and Pervepic had a chrysaora/squid/bonewall poison stall deck. He was able to play his full deck. Mine was not really finely tuned. I can't even say I had a bad draw. I forgot that pandemonium also targets your own creatures and I helped him to build his wall. I slowly died poisoned. Perv (1) - Sno (0)

Second battle: I played Deck 2. I've only seen water pillars, life pendula and a squid from Pervepic. He apparently had a bad draw and I had time to place 4 devourers with one having BE before he could do anything. Perv (1) - Sno (1)

Third battle: I played Deck 2 and apparently Pervepic played the same deck as in the first battle. The battle was a mixture of the two preceding ones. Each one of us could play his game. We were both slowed but, my creature having higher attacks, I was able to gnaw at his health faster. Perv (1) - Sno (2)
First Victory for team Noname :darkness . More are to come!

Here are my decks:

 For 1th and 3d game:

Code: [Select]
52r 52r 52r 52r 542 542 542 542 542 542 542 542 542 542 542 542 542 542 5i5 5i5 5i5 5i5 5i5 5i5 5ib 5ib 5ib 5ib 5ib 5ib
And 2nd one:

Code: [Select]
5c1 5c1 5c1 5c1 5c1 5c1 5c2 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i7 5i7 5i7 5i7 5ib 5ib 5ib 5ib 5ib 5ib
No surprises here; he played decks I thought he will play. First game was fine for me, second game I had bad draws and couldn't get anything out while his Pests sucked; and third game was close but earlier Discord slowed me down and  I didn't draw enough Squids and after Eclipse my Wall was destroyed.

Missing cards are Pendulums btw
The Owls are not what they seem.

You don't have to play your game if the match is already decided. If one person wants to play though, I recommend you play them. The outcome just won't matter.

Brackets updated. I'll make battle elements and new matches can begin.
