I looked over RR's elemental combinations, and the most obviously strong deck that came to mind was Graboids, especially when paired with Ghost and cards like Earthquake and Eternity. So naturally, I played the hardest counter I could - Maxwell's Demon, Wings, and Discord. I got really scared when RR blew up all of my pillars and used Eternity to rewind my only Maxwell's Demon. But I waited it out and thought about a way I could prolong the game and try to find a way to win. I figured that if I was able to conjure up enough
quanta and if I whittled RR's health down with Discord, I could drop all of my Demons and use my single Sky Blitz to win. It was really close, but it worked.
For game two, I knew that he wouldn't play the same deck twice, due to the fact that I had such a hard counter. I did know that there were very few creatures that could survive the combination of my Demons and Shockwaves, so I figured I'd roll the dice and try my luck with the same deck. It turns out I was facing Ghosts and Gargoyles (cheap spin-off game from the NES title?). Probably the only cards I was afraid of were a lot of Steals, Minor Vampires, and Dusk Mantle. Only one Steal showed up to snatch up my second turn Discord, which I promptly replaced. He didn't play out his creatures because I had three Maxwell's Demons out, so I was able to sit back and attack him down to 24 health. He used Nightmare to heal to 28, but I was able to play a fourth Demon, aim three Shockwaves at his face, and let Discord deal the final blow.
This was a very good match, especially the first game. Game one was literally the most epic battle of which I have been a part. Well played, and good decks, RR. I'm glad we got to play.
