I love how we run weekly tournaments on the honor system that include complete unknown players yet somehow events for community members means we need strict rules that supposedly prevent cheating but really don't do anything at all but punish people because the cheaters can get around it with almost no effort at all.  I mean ~4 minute later edit fixing typos lolz.  If I wanted to cheat I'd just quote the original post, copy it, cancel, delete the post, paste the copy, remove the quote signs, change anything I wanted to change, and repost as a brand new post which would basically be an edit without any edit tags.  Cheating 101!

Ah yes it is jijo, but really it's at the bottom of a post well after all the rules were listed under brackets, matchups, and teams.  Excuse me for not paging down 3 times on my laptop to notice that edit.

Just a suggestion, but just maybe you guys should make a stickied topic labeled TPvP Rules so people don't have to look all over kingdom come to find them since apparently this "trust no one" stance has led to quite a few problems from what people have been telling me.  Although this post has been edited so by the hard-to-find rule everything I've just said is voided and ignored so I don't expect anything to happen.
Carpe Diem!!

Look we have had problems in the past, this rule was put up. End of convo.

Also, your expected to read the WHOLE rules before entering an event.

Easier to read them when they aren't all over the place.  Most events have a clearly marked rules thread and put all the rules in one spot instead of spread throughout a post like a treasure hunt.

Here's another bonus with my proposal. Since the PvP Organizer would have access to the deck lists of each team for every round, it would be in the event's best interest if said PvP Organizer was not a player in his own event. Even without my proposition, when a PvP Organizer is playing in his own event, it creates a conflict of interest that potentially harms the integrity of the event. I'm not pointing fingers at anyone in particular, because this has been a practice on our forums that has bugged me for a very long time. It needs to stop. If we have a dedicated group of PvP and Tournament Organizers, then having a rotation would mean that no single person would get stuck having to run all the events without ever participating. [/soapbox]
Could you please explain me whats wrong in me playing in the event? So far I don't see myself being unfair to anyone, hell i even gave my own team a loss, and I'm giving your team more time even though i haven't seen any of you (except jmdt) online at all in the week of the games.
I am not pointing fingers at you, ji412jo. I am stating a fact that an organizer playing in the event he/she is hosting creates a conflict of interest whenever close or tough calls need to be made. Whether or not you are being ethical in your decision making process is moot. The problem is the fact that you are even put in the position to have to make such a call when you have a vested interest in the outcome of said call. But this is for a later discussion.

Vinvick and I have played two out of three games in our match (1-1). We will finish it as soon as he is available to do so.

Here is a really easy fix for the whole post editing fiasco:

Each member of a team must submit any and all deck codes to the PvP Organizer immediately before their match starts. That way the PvP Organizer has a copy of the code to match to the post in case the person actually does need to edit their post. If at any time the decks do not match what was sent to the PvP Organizer, punitive measures may be taken.
I actually build decks while I play.

I decided to investigate into what exactly was the grace period between posting and editing it for the edit tags not to appear.  The general practice across most internet forums it usually around 2-5 minutes to let you fix formatting errors, typos, etc before you are given the edit tag.  After speaking with SG she confirmed that these forums also have that feature but that the grace period was set at only 30 seconds.  She has since changed this to 3 minutes and gave me the ok to post it here.  This should give plenty of time for people to fix minor spelling and/or formatting mistakes but not enough for players to make significant changes to the original post contents.  Hopefully it will also eliminate a large amount of the conflicts that have arisen from the "no edit tags" rules.
Carpe Diem!!

I build and test my counter decks before hand.  In an event like this, I usually pack 5 decks minimum and last round rolled 8.  I like to test a deck before I actually take it out.

Note: By no means did I mean to imply TStar cheated. I'm sure that if he would've wanted to cheat he would've been smart enough to post the decks correctly in the first place (really, who isn't?...) I'm sorry if I left that impression, it is obviously just a misunderstanding of the rules.

We can put this crazy round to an end, finally.

jmizzle7 (2) - vinvick3714 (1)

Game 1
Code: [Select]
5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5l8 5lh 5lh 5lh 5lh 5lh 5lh 5lm 5lm 5lm 5lm 5lm 5lm 5og 5og 5oi 5oi 5oi 5oi 5oi
In this first game, vinvick3714 wisely played Vader Saders, which is a strong deck against most. The only thing he would potentially lose to would be Antimatter, but the likelihood that I would take Antimatter in game one against an opponent with Aether in his elemental arsenal was very slim. Good game plan on vinvick's part.

Upon reviewing the deck that I used, it is an illegal deck. I simply forgot the 2/3 rule when I made this deck. I understand that this causes an automatic loss for the game in question. Since I lost anyway, that doesn't hurt us. *whew*

Game 2
Code: [Select]
4vc 4vc 4vc 4vf 4vh 4vh 4vh 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vl 4vl 4vl 4vl 50u 50u 50u 5lc 5lc 5oe 5oe 5og 5og 5oi 5oi 5oi 5on
I knew I had to be more aggressive in game two, so I went with flying Discords. This proved to be a good deck choice, as vinvick chose to play Black Dragon spam with Parallel Universe. I was actually a bit scared because I first thought he was going Fractal Devourers or Vamps, which would have been pretty devastating if he got a fractal out. He was able to play out some Lightning on my creatures, but I had more on the way and was able to outrace him.

Game 3
Code: [Select]
4vc 4vc 4vc 4vc 4vg 4vg 4vn 4vn 4vn 4vn 4vn 4vn 4vp 4vp 4vp 500 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 50u 5l8 5l8 5lc 5lc 5li 5li 5lm 5lm 5lm 5lm 5lm 5lm
I sensed that vinvick might try to go back to Vader Saders or some other type of aggressive strategy, so I went deckout with Antimatters, Pandemonium, and Sanctuary. Have I mentioned that Sanctuary is amazing? Because it is. I was able to bide my time under Sanctuary for several turns, then Antimattered his second dragon. That was pretty much game over.
