We agreed to play the match on Sunday, I was on for all but 2 hours, which I stated in a PM to jmdt. He was not on AT ALL, until well after the deadline.

Quote
both players were present in chat during the ambiguous timeframe listed
I sent PMs, I have a SS of our conversation. He has none of that.

What is the worst thing out of all of this is that I've NEVER been contacted by TStar or jmdt since the deadline. Where as, I've sent PMs to TStar with the Screenshots and what happened... and then all of a sudden this ruling.

Clearly, the other PvP Staff member was not fully informed as to what happened, since what is said in TStar's above post is false... and since TStar happens to be on the same team as the other player in question..... obviously he couldn't make the ruling.

The ruling should be simple:

We set up a time to play.
There weren't any other times we could play.
I was here and ready to play, jmdt was not on.
I used PMs, jmdt never used any.
I have SSs, jmdt has none.

This would be an obvious ruling in any other situation... why wouldn't it be in this one? WHY?

Play nice fellas. I think that you some of guys already have a ton of trophies, so I see no need to be overly hungry for another when it ruins the atmosphere of friendly play and good sportsmanship. Isn't that what playing is really about?

If players refuse to play and/or communicate towards playing their match, have not requested also for a sub, then a parasite may also be in order since it is a drag on everyone including one's own team mates. Asking for a sub really isn't hard, and Tstar has been accommodating towards myself in this manner, so this shouldn't be something difficult.

On a side note, I have to agree that having an organizer who is also competing in the same tournament that he has organized, can be somewhat questionable given circumstances akin to this one. As you can see I don't think the other players think this is so fair. It is incredibly easy to construe said person with a double role such as this to create decisions for his own benefit, and or for this person to actually make these decisions should one decide so. The players see the obvious vested interest that one can have in being both an organizer and competitor, which is why I believe majofa is contesting said decision. I think that evidence should be given it's due credit as well, and players could present their own sides. I think though as rule of thumb if you've been too lazy to even attempt to set a date with your opponent, you ask for a sub. and if you don't then at least just say that you forfeit the match. There's no point in contesting whether you won or not when you didn't even try to play the match. It's such a drag for other people when stuff like this happens.

I trust you fellas will work this out right. Anyways, just keep it cool, and most of all, just have fun.  :D

We did set a time. I rearranged my life so I could be there early and all the way until the deadline. After the deadline I made the post in this thread and sent a PM to TStar explaining the situation. I then left to take care of my real life obligations that I postponed to be there when I said I'd be there.

When I returned I found that jmdt had been on, but that I still hadn't received a reply to my PM to jmdt. By the time I got back, he was already gone. I had to work a long day the next day, so I went to bed. When I finished work the next day, I found that the game had come down to a coin toss.

What it really comes down to is this:

How is not showing up for your match EQUAL to being there and ready to play?

The organizer AND the 'PvP Staffer' both agreed that this was equal...

I really don't want to start any drama here, but I want to hear organiser's and "PVP staffer's" reason for that.

Since it was a coin toss, I would just let them battle it out if both agree, would seem much fair and competetive

If they can battle it out after deadline it would be unfair to all the other players.

Sad to see this. I agree with coconut cowboy on this. Event organizers should be extra careful about the rulings that effect their own teams, and should factor their own situation. Maybe even make a ruling to their own disadvantage when the situation is not very clear, just for the greater good (regardless if its fair or not). This keeps the reputation of the organizers and the event, both healthy.

This is silly. Any personn to do that for THAT reason would not be a good organizer. Why? Because it's partial, too. Ruling against one's self just for popularity is also hypocritical.
