I figured I'd see a novagrabby game 1 with a possible discord, so I packed a ton of heat and sanctuaries.  Eq worried me, but I ran 4 pillar stacks and over pillared the deck a bit.  I was overjoyed when I saw he ran a speedbow without eq.  He blessed and double blessed several shriekers, but I used my bolts with my pots to kill them, let sanc heal me and use farenheight to kill.

After being so successful with a stall, I knew diseq was comming.  I switch to a full on rush seeing how he was light on CC in the elements and it would outrush scrambled shriekers.  Game 2 I had no immos versus scrambled shriekers and only managed to play 1 grabby thanks to discord.  2nd game I had a near perfect draw and he never drewa nova.

No early Discord made this easymode. EQs were troublesome but I had everything I needed to win with 2dims and a bonewall in hand on the last turn.

I used the wrong build of this deck, hoped I'd see something along the lines of his deck, but I had a deck ready with two-stack and PAs with dmgeoutput. That deck was 38 cards and would likely have lost to freaky ol' aflatoxin.

Only 1 nova in over half the deck, dims didn't help at all either.  If I could have matched his speed in poison and drawn less pande's this could have been in my favor.

Would have really liked to bring something else after seeing Bones choice in Deck 1, but subbing dictated I bring a preordered/made deck.  He played his tit shield a turn before I put my arse out.  I was hoping he didn't use Stone Skins after this since he had a larger deck.  With my arse nullified by his tit, it was just a matter of time before he would stone skin to victory D:

subbing comment: subbing really detracts from your chances to win as most decks are chosen or made as the match goes on.

Well this is stupid - I've taken time out of my day to be here in the only 3 hour window Rember says he has - and he's a no show.

Bonestorm was nice enough to try and set up subbing for this match - but took to long - its now a couple minutes before the clock expires and I've got nothing to show for it.

I'd apologize to my team - but I've got nothing to be sorry for - I've bent over backwards trying to make this work and it simply has not been possible.

I've shuffled some decks on to MatrimKK with 3mins left in the round. TStar seems pretty pro-playing the matches rather than double elim so they are with Matt if T or jimmy show up shortly, and can find another willing substitute I guess.

Apparently I gave the wrong deck for Game 1 to my team lol.  Should have been Discords, more EQ, and another Nova iirc.  Ah well, such is life.

Game 1: Giant 46 card immortal vs immophoenix, ultimately the deflag on the shield that came out won me the game. I won by a hair the turn he was going to miracle. Got pretty great quanta/damage.

Game 2: Aether mark, hmm lightnings. Had an awful start, was chipping away with a gnome army and later on a graboid. Eventually drew a pillar then topdecked rather well. I played a bit cautiously expecting dimshields but suddenly my phoenix got PU'd twice and it was a race to the finish from thereon. I was very worried on the last turn since I was in killrange of 3 lightnings and a dragon, but only 1 lightning and dragon dropped.

Jen-i could have easily won both games with a bit more luck, he only drew 1 lightning in the last game. Well played, I'm fortunate to run into such well mannered opponents so often, I guess it says something about the community here.

edit: Upon seeing Jen-i's decks this outcome vexes me even more...

I'm very sorry to your team about the scheduling conflicts I caused, but if it's any consolation my reasons weren't petty.

My monster 46 card stall - 7 cards of CC should give me enough that I draw one and blunt any rush he puts together enough for my healing to kick in - and lots and lots of healing. Unfortunately I drew my first warden at card #17 the turn before I died. I managed to blunt the rush a little, but not enough to make a difference. In testing the deck did fine against a few different immo rushes - but without drawing any CC I would need light pillars to be able to drop Miracle in time - the outside chance at that didn't pan out either.

6 Lightnings and fast dragons should give me an edge against both firestall and any rush he's running. Unfortunately I drew 5 pends and no pillars this game - makes paying for dragons real tough - I got to play one the turn before I died - and only topdecked one lightning - again the turn before I died. Even then I managed to only be out rushed by a single turn.

Grats uberdudesftw. Tho, this confuses me. Excuse me if there is something exceptional that i don't know but does this mean we can play the matches after the deadline ? Several teams got eliminated for not playing their matches in the deadline before.
