So I quickly built a deck - laughed at my foolishness - edited the deck with other ideas to make it weaker - decided to test it anyways - confirmed the pathetic nature of my idea - edited the deck one more time in the vain effort to prove I wasn't an idiot - then I added fractal and a stone dragon (cause every aether deck needs fractal) - laughed one final time at my stupidity rejected the deck and deleted the code ... or at least I thought I had - what actually happened was I copied it over the deck code of the deck I planned on playing against Blondie first.
Weeks ago I built a lovely
deck with EQ, fractal, phase shields and other goodness - I had tested it well and was very pleased with the results - it was built to crush stall decks and make control decks irrelevant - it was a thing of beauty. Now I don't remember the exact deck code - but I do remember it was 32 cards - I loaded my fail deck, saw the correct colours, EQ, and fractal looked no further - I assumed I had loaded the correct deck - why would I not have done so?
When the match started with a 1 pend draw I was disappointed - but I know my luck often sucks - and I figured I would just persevere. When by the end of the match I hadn't drawn a single phase shield or creature to fractal I just assumed that it was a round of Jen-i's awful luck.
When my luck kicks in - I've learned the answer is don't start to second guess myself - I just make mistakes then - no just push on - my luck will turn eventually. So I didn't switch deck codes - I didn't even look at the deck (if I looked at it I might start to doubt the deck - and I had tested it well and knew it was solid). So we began the second game and immediately I knew something was wrong - why did I have 3 phase dragons in my opening hand - 1 might be understandable in a fractal deck - but 3? And where did all these silences come from? I thought I had 2 in the original deck, and where were my freaking phase shields.
I immediately went back and loaded the deck code into the image viewer and stared at it in dismay - I had played two games with my fail deck - with the piece of junk I had built - then intentionally made worse as a private joke. There was no way I should win this match - when we desynched part way through the was no point in contesting - no reason for Blondie to take a screen shot - I had loaded the gun - duct tapped it to my own foot - put Blondie's finger on the trigger - and had shouted to make him jump.
Wow do I suck - again team, I'm sorry for my fail - I hope you can forgive me and bring home the win.
