I figured Discord/EQ would beat GotP/Nightmare and would easily beat just about any other deck of his aside from Immogolems, so I tossed in a couple Maxwell's in case he used that deck and decided to ride this until I lost.  Luckily, I didn't.

** First try I got into the game but he did not.  I had a perfect hand for this deck of 3 Pends, 1 Nova, 1 Discord, 1 EQ, 1 Graboid so I was a sad panda
** Second try we both got in.  I won the toss and played 4 Pends + Nova w/Discord and EQ in hand but we had a desync before he played
** Third try he got into a game but I did not
** Fourth try we both got in and had a clean game up until a desync on the final turn, but he gave me the win since I would have beaten him the next turn and have a commanding lead.
Turn 1 - I lost the toss.  He plays out 1 Time Pend and 1 Burning Pillar.  I respond with 3 Pends and 2 Nova and have 2 Graboids and a Maxwell's in my hand.
Turn 2 - He plays another pillar and I play a Graboid.  I drew an EQ but decided to hold it until his pillar stack grew to 3.
Turn 3 - He plays another pillar.  I draw my lone Deflag and use my EQ on the 3 Pillar stack and evolved my Graboid
Turn 4 - He plays another pillar and RT's the Shrieker.  I draw it back on my turn and play nothing.
Turn 5 - He plays another pillar.  I topdeck an EQ and blow up the 2 Pillar stack.  About this time I'm thinking about how awesome a Discord would be.
Turn 6 - He plays nothing.  I draw a Nova and play it along with a Graboid.
Turn 7 - He plays nothing again.  I draw an EQ and decide to hell with waiting for the Discord so I play my Maxwell's with 10 extra quanta to see if I can bait some of his RTs.
Turn 8 - He plays nothing again.  I draw a Pend and play it.  I've just about given up hope at this point of ever seeing a Discord.
Turn 9 - He plays a Sundial.  I draw my other Maxwell's but decide to hold it for now to avoid getting RT decklocked if he double RTs them both.
Turn 10 - He plays a Fahrenheit.  I draw my last EQ and play nothing.
Turn 11 - He plays a Pillar.  I draw another Graboid and play it.  Now over halfway through the deck without a Discord.  I decide that MatrimKK has cursed me and vow to beat him up later.
Turn 12 - He plays a Fire Shield.  Apparently my idle threats worked as I finally drew a Discord and played it.  I also decided to dump everything so I evolved both Graboids, played the Shrieker he RT'd earlier, dropped the other Maxwell's, and used my Deflag on his shield.  This took him down below 40hp with me still over 80 and enough damage on the field to kill him the next turn.  He had an instant desync pop up but he told me there was no way he could stop me from winning so he gave me the victory.

I still need to beat up MatrimKK though for having those Discords troll me so

This game was clean with no problems connecting or desyncs.
Turn 1 - Won toss.  I played 1 Pend + 2 Nova w/Discord, Graboid, EQ, and my lone Deflag in hand.  He played 2 Dark Pends.  I immediately guessed this was the GotP/Nightmare deck I was expecting at some point.
Turn 2 - I drew a 2nd EQ and use one on his 2 Pends to try to deny him of , while also playing my Discord.  He played a Time pillar.
Turn 3 - I drew a Pend and played it.  He played another Dark Pend and another Time pillar.
Turn 4 - I drew a Graboid and decided to play one instead of using EQ again.  He played another Time pillar.
Turn 5 - I drew a third Graboid and played my second one while evolving my other hoping he wouldn't RT it.  My Discord gave him a little love and gave him 2 so he played a GotP and hit my half-empty hand with a Nightmare.
Turn 6 - No draw due to Nightmare, but I decided to go for broke and cross my fingers that RT never came so I evolved my second Graboid and left my Shrieker unburrowed.  I had to discard an EQ.  He played another Time pillar.
Turn 7 - I drew a Discord and played the third Grab I had.  He played nothing.  My gamble seemed to be paying off since he hadn't RT'd anything yet and I started to suspect he either didn't have any or his RT's were Eternity-based.
Turn 8 - I drew a Pend and played it but didn't have any quanta to evolve my Graboid.  He played a second GoTP and Dark Pend.  Discord really made up for being such a troll to me the game before by denying him from getting 2 every single turn since his first Nightmare.  I won on the next turn with the damage out on the field.
Great games jonathancrazyj.  I had lots of fun playing against you and hope we face off again in the future.

We had some connection issues in the 1st game, a few false starts but all agreed on.
I was pleased with this deck in testing, and thought it would be a nice suprise as Tstar wouldn't expect a firestall nececarily from      .  Unfortunately he played a nova, discord earthquake that ruined my quanta generation. he kept grabboids burrowed and my fire shield came too late. should have had more in there and maybe a deflag or two but space was tight because not much else time wise to put in to add to the ratio.

Yes, i went for ghostmare. The only thing i could think to try to counter his quanta denial was to card deny him.
I modded it to have a veriaty of pillars / pends, and to have excess quanta against his denial.
Should have kept some rewinds tbh.
He got an early discord which was very cruel on my dark quanta, kept teasing me with 1 lol... the one turn i did have two i chose to nightmare instead of play devourer. should have played devourer but probably wouldnt have made a difference.
Im still trying to think of something i could have effectively countered his deck with lol

Lol, you used very similar decks. If it works, it works I guess. I thought my first deck was just so good since you had no way to heal (except Earth Skin, which is rare) I thought I'd poison you to death. I was all scared of Dimensional Shield and you hardly had any cards.

Technically it doesn't have to be played since it doesn't matter, but it's highly encouraged to play anyhow so every player gets a chance to play at least a couple matches in the event.  Teams that want to keep decks secret can just take "fun" decks into games that don't matter.
