Military Intelligence Headquarters File #39 Concerning Frostkracken Raiding Party #1: The Tentacle's Grip

Founded by Emperor JonathanCrazyJ in The Third Kraken's Era, The Tentacle's Grip is the first of several raiding parties intended to expand The Empire beyond the borders of the ocean. This file details the origin of its members, and the details of their enrollment in this project.

Descended from the old Kraken's blood, JonathanCrazyJ is the oldest known instance of tentacle evolution. His parents, king and queen of the old Abyss, unaware of the possibility of single-tentacle children did not notice him among the hundreds of tentacles belonging to their other children. Eventually, when he was strong enough, he hid among his siblings, then his parents tentacles, and throttled them in their sleep. This is HIGHLY CLASSIFIED.
Since, tentacles have evolved from other less regal bloodlines, presumably under his instruction.

Krzysiekxd:
A rare form of tentacle that originated in the deepest parts of the ocean, Krzysiekxd is bio-luminescent. As The Emperor was setting up his council, he instantly took a liking to the brightest of the potential recruits. As the emperor entered The Academy for Artisan Bardery, Krzysiekxd was singing a song to the other recruits of an incredible tale about The Emperor slaying a whole army of feral warrior-eels single-handedly. What the Emperor enjoyed was that it was completely untrue, yet the other bards were utterly convinced.
An expert in propaganda, map-making and inter-species relations, it is theorized he actually set up this chance encounter, as a way to trick himself into the emperor's services. Either way he has been seemingly loyal since.

Silver Emerald:
The closest creature The Emperor has to a friend. Silver Emerald is rarely far from JonathanCrazyJ's side, personally writing his highness' diary by means of dictation. Originally bio-luminescent (similar to Krzysiekxd File #6), but he is damaged after an incident which gained The Emperor's trust. He was a journalist, reporting at The Emperor's inauguration, when he noticed a puffer fish dart towards The Emperor. He lunged forwards selflessly to knock the puffer fish out of the way before it inflated, but took a spine to the sucker. Court wizards stopped his death, but the venom drained his luminosity, and turned his white suckers Emerald. As a reward, The Emperor took him on as court scribe. He founded and writes for Military Intelligence, and hence has access to all files.

rob77dp:
Known for never shirking from an order, rob77dp is the commander of The Frostkracken Army, although this is a largely ceremonial role, as actual commanding duties in full scale war usually need to be delegated, as rob77dp would be occupied in his capacity of Crusader of The Tentacle's Grip. The Emperor came across him when reviewing the battalion he was serving in at the barracks. In frustration of how slowly the officer ran the company through drills for him, between the officer shouting commands of "Tentacles Curl!" and "Tentacles Whip!" The Emperor shouted "Tentacles Ink Yourselves!"
Amid the stunned silence of the rest of the battalion, rob77dp was the only one to follow the order, shooting a huge jet of ink right at the officer. He was provisionally signed up for The Tentacle's Grip that very afternoon.

Espithel:
Espithel learned his trade as an enchanter in the markets of Port Fathom. His earlier inventions brought attention from local law enforcement, and he was briefly imprisoned for enchanting trinkets and jewelry to make the wearer spontaneously vomit and selling them to tax enforcers after an audit. The city's entire customs and excise records for that year were ruined, and he was imprisoned for what should have been 5 years. Instead, on a routine jail inspection, The Emperor saw him enchanting the bars of his cell into erotic art. It was the most intricate enchantment The Emperor had seen, and completely without reagents.
When asked why he didn't just enchant the bars to widen so he could escape, he replied "I was going to, but I got distracted sometime last year turning them into erotica, and the guards pay me more for their favorites than I ever earned at the market."
Unsurprisingly, his talents are now used more practically by The Tentacle's Grip

Aves:
Little is known of the black tentacle wizard known as Aves at the point of writing this report. The final member of The Tentacle's Grip was recruited more of necessity than head-hunting. The group needed a wizard to round off its talents, and Aves was the head-wizard of the Arcane University. What is strange is the records are unclear when he started that post. It is known he didn't found the university in The Second Kraken's Era, but there appears to be no record of the head-wizards since then. It's as though he appeared out of thin water.
Regardless, he is clearly an excellent wizard, already helping to tame the Great Sea Turtle used by The Tentacle's Grip for administration purposes. His security clearance is suspended until more is known, and his participation in this team is currently top secret.

Additional Notes:
Military Intelligence do not currently support this project. The Emperor is adamant that he will undertake raids on the mainland with these tentacles. Many of them have had vastly inflated security clearances in the decade between the first and final members being recruited. We have thankfully been successful in convincing The Emperor to keep The Wizard's clearance low, and have put all possible protocols in place to keep The Emperor safe in these early stages of this project. Once their first raid begins we will have limited ability to oversee the proceedings.
All we can do is trust The Emperor's judgement.
