Thoughts:Boss:A Toadally Newtral Team: Funky and awesome
Abyss Brawlers: Cool picture, the eyes really pop.
Leage of Shadows: Very logo like, but too boring
Fiery-Hot Mixtape: Definitely looks like it was done manually, props.
Us: We went through way too many iterations to get something right for me to not love this.
Gaia's Pride: Kinda borning
Artist:Gaia: Ehhh. I mean credit for not using a converter, but you don't get a vote just because you didn't use every tool available to you like most teams did.
Toad: Meh, it's just a frog.
Abyss: I like the nymph, but I feel like the title at the bottom takes away from the artistry a lot.
LoS: I didn't know I wanted full cards made with ASCII as opposed to just the art converted but damn that's clever.
Mixtape: Same as Gaia, though your art is cooler.
Chaosomes: Gotta love that pillar at night.
Card Designer:Gaia: I feel like you stretched the idea of scientific principle, and the card itself is rubbing me the wrong way. The card shouldn't be in time just because it's a
time bomb.
Toad: An interesting way to make a strong cheap creature, though I kinda wish it did more than just not be able to have copies.
Abyss: I knew at least one team would submit the wave. The wording on the card does not make clear that the bonus alternates, or cancels out. I
think(confirmed after reading your notes) you intended for it to alternate. I also don't like it having the ability to stabilize.
LoS: This is a really interesting form of denial... Or you can use it on yourself to make a rainbowish deck more efficient... Yeah this is a good card and a decent way to represent the phenomenon.
Mixtape: You know thermodynamics basically means entropy right? The card itself is of fairly limited use but not too bad.
Chaosomes: We made an awesome card, and stuck to the principle more than any other team.
Deck Builder / Forum Expert:Gaia: The starter decks seem too consistent. I honestly didn't look at the theme deck part too much because I thought that was going beyond the scope of the challenge.
Toad: I like the concept of rush and control options. The decks are still too good though.
Abyss: Again I do like the concept of rush and control options for each element. They still seem too consistent, but are more reasonably "starter like".
League of Shadows: No. Aside from not actually providing a deck example (well maybe I can count what's visible in the last image) this basically does away with the concept of starter decks. It's styled after a tutorial, but doesn't actually have a tutorial aspect to it. It forces players to make irreversible decisions when they still have very limited information about the game. Also, six copies of cards chosen? You are just handing the newbie a totally maxed out deck.
Mixtape: If you read my reviews of the above, you see that I disagree with your core premise. Your decks are what newbies should learn to build eventually, not what they should start with. With your decks, every new card they get will be a disappointment because they already have the best cards in the element. I've also played enough different card games to be able to completely disagree with you. Almost everyone knows starter decks aren't examples of good decks, they're starter decks. I've never seen a player show up to a Magic tournament with a starter deck, or a deck that remotely resembles one.
Chaosomes: Well, I build starter decks to be starter decks, which most others did not.
Writer:For limericks, rhythm is really important.
Gaia: These scan really well, though I disagree with your choice to make it one long limerick instead of 3 separate ones.
Toad: None of these scan very well, syllable stress is all over the place
Abyss: #1 doesn't scan too well but is clever. #2 and #3 scan fine and I like the subject matter, though having a steam machine and then complaining about lack of creatures?
LoS: #1 scans fine with some wrangling. #2 has 12 syllables on line 2. #3 is awesome. Did three separate people write these?
Mixtape: The syllable counts are a bit off, but they scan so well I didn't notice until I counted. Same complaint as Gaia.
Us: We made 3 cool limericks, with rhythm hitting the words how it should.
