The current starter decks are pretty weak.  They all use a hodgepodge of cards from the element and quantum pillars to power all the one of abilities.  Our new ideas for starter decks are a bit more to the point, while maintaining some of the "hodgepodginess" of the starter decks we know and love.  Gone are the quantum pillars.  Instead, we have starter decks that are focused primarily on one element, with a secondary element to help.  The biggest difference these decks have from the current starters is that once a new player figures out that in most cases a 30 card deck is best, they can be made better just by removing cards.  In some cases, there are multiple ways to do it.  Remove the second element so you don't have to worry about quanta?  Go for it.  Remove the unnecessary cards thrown in to showcase the element and focus on a core strategy?  Go for that too.  Once you have a streamlined deck, you can start buying additional copies of the cards you like.  Another departure from current starters is that the mark is always chosen to power the secondary element instead of the first.  This throws players head first into quanta balancing, something current starters definitely lack.  Pretty much the only thing we kept from the starter decks is that they all include a single dragon of the primary element.  Each gets the majority of it's cards from the main element and around 10 cards from a secondary.  Each element only appears as a secondary once.
